The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is heating up as Stage 3 wraps up, paving the way for an electrifying playoff showdown. This phase delivered thrilling upsets, record-breaking moments, and intense competition — from the end of Team Vitality’s legendary win streak, to FaZe Clan’s resurgence and highlight plays from stars like Oleksandr ‘’s1mple’’ Kostyljev. Meanwhile, viewership numbers have soared, driven by top-tier teams and passionate fans tuning in across multiple languages.

Stage 3 delivered plenty of drama, with storylines that resonated with both fans and analysts. Most notably, Team Vitality’s impressive 30-series win streak in official games was finally broken. In the first round of Stage 3, the French powerhouse faced Brazil’s Legacy and suffered a shocking 3:13 loss on Inferno. Still, the setback didn’t stop Vitality from securing a playoff spot — something Legacy failed to achieve.

Another big surprise was FaZe’s resurgence: Finn ‘’karrigaN’’ Andersen’s squad is picking up steam as the tournament goes on and looks poised to make a deep playoff run. Brazilian teams also put on a solid showing, with both paiN Gaming and FURIA Esports advancing to the playoffs. It’s the first time since PGL Major Kraków 2017 that two Brazilian squads have reached the knockout stage of a Major. In a twist of fate, paiN and FURIA will face off in the very first round of the playoffs, ensuring that at least one Brazilian team will advance to the semifinals.

One of the standout moments of Stage 3 was the Round 5 clash between The MongolZ and G2 Esports, particularly their epic showdown on Dust II. The match went into countless overtime rounds, with The MongolZ eventually edging out a 28:25 win. It’s been the most intense and hard-fought map of the tournament so far.

Stage 3 matches racked up over 24.3 million Hours Watched, a 32% increase compared to the previous stage. The spike is largely thanks to the presence of top-tier teams and a higher average viewership per match. Peak concurrent viewership also climbed, though more modestly, with an 8.34% increase.

Interestingly, Stage 3’s higher peak viewership was driven by simultaneous broadcasts across multiple channels. Still, the tournament’s most-watched match remains the Stage 2 showdown between MIBR and Team Falcons, the only series so far to break the one million Peak Viewers mark. While no matches in Stage 3 hit that milestone, the G2 Esports vs. The MongolZ game came the closest.

Twitch continues to be the leading platform for tournament coverage, topping the charts in both total watch hours and peak concurrent viewers. That said, the BLAST.tv platform also had a milestone moment during Stage 3, breaking its viewership record.

As expected, viewership increased across the main broadcast languages — English, Russian, and Portuguese — compared to Stage 2. But the most significant spikes came from the Polish and Ukrainian streams, both of which nearly doubled their peak concurrent viewership. Polish fans were especially tuned in to G2 Esports, which features two players from Poland, while Ukrainian viewers devoted their full attention to Natus Vincere.

The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 playoffs will run from June 19 to 22 at the Moody Center. The opening round features four matchups: Team Spirit will battle MOUZ and Team Vitality will take on Natus Vincere in one half of the single-elimination bracket, while FaZe Clan faces The MongolZ and FURIA Esports goes up against paiN Gaming in the other half.
