Brawl Stars esports season has come to an end. The last event was the World Finals 2021, which brought together the best teams in the discipline. The tournament also featured new Natus Vincere roster, as well as an esports team of AC Milan. In the new article, Esports Charts compared the tournament’s stats to the previous competitions in the series.

The update to the format of the esports season was that now the teams fought not starting from January (as it was in 2020), but from March to October. Each month the teams fought for cash prizes and gained tournament points. The teams with the most points were automatically earning spots in the World Finals.

The regional changes included the removal of South Korean and Asia-Pacific regions while adding Eastern Europe/Central Asia and East Asia. The tournament also featured teams from South America and Oceania. The format of the event itself was mixed: the teams could choose whether they would play remotely or participate in the LAN in Romania, Bucharest.

The finale of the season was held on November 26-28 featuring 16 teams. The prize fund has not changed and amounted to $1M. Comparing tournament results to past years, World Finals 2021 lost 33% Peak Viewers. There was a change in the preferences of the viewers regarding the platforms. In 2020 YouTube gathered more people, but in 2021 Twitch became the leader in terms of the Peak Viewers.

World Finals 2021 was on air twice as long as last year's event, causing the Hours Watched to grow by 118%. The competition amassed 1.78M Hours Watched, which became a new record for the discipline! There was a 10% decrease in Average Viewers – a result that’s far from catastrophic, given that the championship lasted twice as long as the last World Cup.

The viewers could earn in-game prizes for watching the broadcasts: the longer one watched the tournament, the more awards one received – and this also had a positive effect on the viewership statistics of the event.
