CBLOL Split 2 2023 viewership results — déjà vu in Brazil featuring LOUD
On September 9, the CBLOL Split 2 2023, a League of Legends tournament, came to an end. As a result, the team that will represent Brazil at the 2023 World Championship in October was determined. The summer tournament attracted almost 330K Peak Viewers, but fell short compared to the total Hours Watched and Average Viewers in the spring split.
The CBLOL Split 2 2023 turned out to be practically identical to the CBLOL Split 1 2023, with the same teams making it to the finals. In the decisive match, LOUD defeated paiN Gaming with a score of 3:1, earning a spot in the World Championship in South Korea. This will be LOUD's second international tournament this year, as it previously competed in the Mid-Season Invitational 2023. Interestingly, LOUD has now won three consecutive splits in the national league, and in each of these seasons, they have defeated paiN Gaming in the finals.
CBLOL Split 2 2023 Viewership Statistics

CBLOL Split 2 2023 viewership results
In total, the CBLOL Split 2 2023 matches accumulated 11.9 million Hours Watched. The Average Viewers number per match was 82.1K, with the Peak Viewers number during the Grand Final reaching 329.8K.
PaiN Gaming became the most popular team of the season, surpassing other teams in terms of the total Hours Watched because it played more matches. As for the Average Viewers number per game, paiN Gaming and LOUD were on equal footing.
When it comes to broadcasts, the CBLOL matches were only streamed on the league's official channels on Twitch and YouTube. This means that the league still does not have community casting, although in the case of games like Valorant, Brazilian streamers actively cover tournaments on their personal channels.
Dynamics Of CBLOL Splits In 2023

Comparison of the first and second splits of CBLOL 2023
The CBLOL Split 2 2023 surpassed the previous split in terms of Peak Viewers and showed the fourth-best result in the history of the Brazilian league. As for the other metrics, the summer split proved to be weaker than the previous one in terms of the total Hours Watched and Average Viewers — these metrics declined by 24% and 26%, respectively.

If we look at the dynamics, we can note a tendency toward a decrease in the Average Viewers number per match. However, the Peak Viewers number in the Brazilian league remains consistently high. Why is this happening? It is clear that viewers have become less interested in following the league, as with each split, there is less intrigue. For the third consecutive season, the same teams play in the finals, and the winner remains the same. Even among the top-rated matches, it is evident that around 100K new viewers came to watch only the final, in which a spot in the World Championship was at stake. The other, less important games had a much smaller audience reach.

Comparison of the latest CBLOL, LEC and LCS seasons
Comparing CBLOL to other leagues, it can be noted that the Brazilian league has started to surpass the LCS in all viewership metrics. Considering the downward trend for the American league, the gap between these leagues will only continue to increase. Furthermore, in terms of Peak Viewers, the CBLOL Split 2 2023 almost caught up with the LEC Summer 2023 (329.8K and 343.5K Peak Viewers, respectively). And this is despite the LEC having very strong community casting by ibai and other popular content creators.
