Clash Royale and Clash of Clans set new esports records at DreamHack Atlanta 2025

Two of the three most popular Supercell games saw their world championships conclude over the first weekend of November. The top Clash of Clans and Clash Royale events were held under one roof as part of the DreamHack Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center from October 31 to November 2. Here is the recap of these top-tier events for readers and any viewership trends to emerge from these mobile esports titles.

The Clash Royale League 2025 World Finals brought together the 12 best players in the world as they fought to secure the coveted trophy. A substantial prize pool of $50,000 was on the line, with the winner taking home $20,000 and the title of 2025 Clash Royale League champion.

The Clash Royale League 2025 World Finals was held over three days, and after it was all said and done, Mohamed "Mohamed Light" Tarek emerged as the winner. The Egyptian's Grand Final against Kauan "Sub" de Oliveira Cecconello emerged as the tournament's most popular match, hitting 698,426 Peak Viewers (PV).

Mohamed Light's triumph, which included a run through the Lower Bracket, marked his third world championship trophy in Clash Royale. It was also his second straight world championship victory, having outperformed everyone else at the Clash Royale League 2024 World Finals.

Most importantly, the CRL 2025 World Finals created multiple new viewership milestones for the game, including shattering the record for the most popular Clash Royale competition. The nearly 700,000 PV it recorded beat the previous topper, the World Finals in 2018, by just over 93%.

Clash Royale's 2025 World Finals also ended as the real-time strategy video game title's most-watched event ever, accruing 3.8 million Hours Watched (HW). This made it the game's first tournament to cross the 3 million HW mark and beat the 2018 world championship by a handy 59.7%.

A big reason for these massive improvements was the availability of rewards for audiences. Fans received the exclusive Spectator Badge for making predictions on who they thought would win each match and gaining points by interacting during the live broadcast. Other viewership rewards included chests, crates, and emotes, with a total of 12 prizes on offer for fans.

Moreover, there was a lot of interest among community casters in the Clash Royale League 2025 World Finals thanks to its venue. The DreamHack series remains one of the largest gaming festivals globally, combining professional esports tournaments, competitive and casual LAN (local area network) parties, and pop culture celebrations.

As a result, a lot more eyeballs were on the Clash Royale's most prominent competition. Compared to the 2024 World Finals, it was covered by 84 more channels, with the total number being 130a pretty solid number for such a niche esports title.

Renowned video gaming content creators like Nicholas "Jynxzi" Stewart, Felix "xqc" Lengyel and Abdulaziz "owbrain" Almehmadi were part of this list of co-streamers. This also meant that the CRL 2025 World Finals got exposure on new platforms like Kick and TikTok, with the two taking up a not-so-shabby 14.14% of the overall watch time at this event.

These two platforms, alongside YouTube, also set new PV milestones in Clash Royale esports. The rise of Kick and TikTok was especially noteworthy, beating their previous marks by 292% and 231%, respectively.

Supercell's other mobile titles' world championship was held from October 31 to November 2. It saw the world's top eight clans, consisting of five players each, battling for a prize pool of $700,000, with the winner becoming richer by $300,000.

The Clash of Clans World Championship 2025 was held in the Hard Mode and featured only Town Hall 17 players. It was also a livestreaming triumph, finishing as the free-to-play mobile strategy video game's most successful tournament ever.

This prestigious Clash of Clans tournament also became the first in the title's esports history to cross 600,000 Hours Watched (HW). It beat the previous-best entry by a handy 33% despite only airing for 25 minutes longer.

Moreover, the event hit 74,311 Peak Viewers during the Lower Bracket Final on Day 3 between Repotted Gaming and ElevateThis made it the second most popular competition of all time in Clash of Clans, with only the 2020 iteration doing better (it remains the only entry to surpass 80,000 PV).

The Grand Final between Repotted Gaming and Tribe Gaming ended as the second-most popular series, peaking at 68,492 viewers. Like the CRL 2025 World Finals, it went an extra game after the former, who came from the Lower Bracket, won the first match.

However, Tribe Gaming was not to be denied, winning the second game and the world title, and giving the North Americans bragging rights over Europe. Tribe Gaming also ended its bad luck in the finals of the Clash of Clans world championships, sealing a first win after two previous runner-up placings in 2024 and 2022.

Riding the DreamHack Atlanta wave was a big reason for this success, with the event seeing double the channels covering the matches compared to the Clash of Clans World Championship 2024. This number exactly doubled from 39 to 78, with TikTok emerging as the big winner here as well.

In its livestreaming debut at the Clash of Clans World Championship, the video-sharing app cornered a solid 8.37% of the cumulative watch time. Moreover, the game's official TikTok English handle finished as the third-most-watched and fourth-most-popular channel at this event.

Additionally, five languages set new esports PV records for Clash of Clans livestreaming. The new milestone peak live viewership numbers that Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Turkish, and Bahasa Malaysia hit may not seem like much, but they point to a continued expansion for the game across the globe.

Supercell seems to have landed on a winning formula for the livestreaming success of its mobile esports games in 2025. Clash Royale and Clash of Clans enjoyed excellent viewership at their world championships, and with the Brawl Stars World Finals 2025 to come at the end of this month, the year could end on an unprecedented high for the Finnish company.
