Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 was held in Finland in mid-November, where 12 European teams competed for a $200K prize pool and a slot in the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In. In a new Esports Charts article, we will tell you about the results and viewership statistics of this championship, which proved to be the most successful among the tournaments by Elisa Esports.

Elisa Esports is a tournament operator from Finland, run by the large telecommunications company Elisa Oyj. It is mostly known for its Elisa Invitational tournament series, which has been running since the beginning of 2021, as well as the Arctic Invitational 2019 championship, organized jointly with Starsquad.

Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 stood out compared to other tournaments by Elisa Esports for its biggest prize pool, as well as such giants of the CS:GO scene as Astralis and Fnatic among the participants. In the Grand Final, Fnatic defeated BIG 2-0 and advanced to the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In. It should be noted that Fnatic lost only one Complexity map in the Group Stage.

Viewership Statistics

Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 matches were broadcasted for 47.5 hours and accumulated more than 1.4 million Hours Watched in that time, also drawing 29.5K Average Viewers. The event saw its Peak Viewers number of 73.6K reached at the Astralis vs. ENCE quarterfinal match. The Finnish language is in second place, contributing under 6% to the event's HW total. Spanish, French and Portuguese are also in the Top 5 languages of the championship according to this metric. At the same time, Russian-language broadcasts are in the Top 4 by Peak Viewers, behind English, Finnish and Spanish streams.

As we have already noted, Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 has become the most successful event of the Finnish tournament operator Elisa Esports in terms of viewership statistics. It outpaced its closest pursuer (Elisa Invitational Summer 2021) by 56.2% of Peak Viewership, and its closest pursuer (Arctic Invitational 2019) by 111% of Average Viewers.

A number of factors contributed to the increased interest of viewers in Elisa Masters Espoo 2022. The prize pool of this championship was higher than in other Elisa Esports events, and the tournament served as a qualifier for the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In. But the main reason for the success of Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 was still the participation of popular tier-1 teams — Astralis, BIG, Fnatic and ENCE.
