Even COVID-19 pandemic couldn't stop one of the main tournaments in Europe - EU Masters. Summer split managed to gather all the top teams from all over EU. So, which one of the regional championships became the most popular?

Summer split European Masters happened after COVID-19 outbreak calmed down a bit, so most of the countries have already began reducing quarantine measures, but it has still affected the event. Because of that, EU Masters organizers have decided to hold the tournament sooner than expected, and it caused some unforeseen problems.

French league suffered the most due to the change of schedule, because it was impossible to finish all games in time before the start of the European Masters Summer 2020 group stage. Therefore, the organizers had to create special qualifiers for the main French teams.

SuperLiga Orange Summer has repeated last year's success and became the most popular regional championship in 2020. Around 13K viewers were watching the league on average and more than 31K viewers were watching it at its peak.

This is the best result among all other tournaments in the event. There are a couple of reasons for why the Spanish league had such good results two years in a row: many big organizations have signed second rosters to compete in this league. For example, G2 Esports has selected Arctic Gaming to manage its Academy League of Legends team. Additionally, one of the most known "old school" LCS EU teams were playing in the SuperLiga Orange 2020 - Giants Gaming.

Prime League Pro Division was the second most popular summer league. 9K viewers were watching the DACH League on average and 25K viewers were watching it at its peak. Prime League also had an interesting list of participants: second roster of the Schalke 04 Esports, popular CS:GO team mousesports and the European division of the Unicorns of Love.

We can notice a few key differences In comparison with the results of the spring tournament. The most popular league, SuperLiga Orange, showed far worse results in comparison with the spring ones. The difference between the peak marks amounts to 31%. Prime League, however, has managed to attract new audience: 44% more viewers were watching the league at its peak, and 32% more viewers were watching it on average. If this trend continues, in the next year the Spanish tournament might have to give up first place to their main competitors.

Languages popularity completely correlates with the results of the tournament's ratings, mostly because all the championships were broadcasted in their "official" language. It's worth noting that the English language, while traditionally being the most popular one in the LEC League, was only the 6th most popular language in the EU Masters.

European Masters Summer 2020 will be held from August 24 to September 20. Best teams in Europe will fight for the 150,000 Euros prize pool.
