Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2025 attracts 61% more viewers than 2024
On September 6, the Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2025 concluded at the YES 24 Live Hall in Seoul, South Korea. Thanks to a combination of factors, which we'll get into in detail below, it ended among the three most popular competitions in the game's history.
The most prestigious event in Epic Seven's calendar carried a prize pool of $100,000, the joint-most in the mobile role-playing title's competitive history. It brought together 64 of the world's best players as they vied for the title of world champion.

After around three weeks of action, Xiao Xuenai beat GOMEAWME 4:2 in the Grand Final to emerge as the victor and the title's newest world champ. For this achievement, he took home $50,000 and some special items, including a trophy, a Hero Skin, and a ring, with another reward to be revealed at the end of the year.
"After six years in Epic Seven, I've finally made it to the top of RTA. Standing at the bottom and looking up at that peak felt overwhelming, but I was blessed to have true companions by my side throughout this journey. I want to thank Smilegate from the bottom of my heart for hosting the 2025 World Championship, and I'm deeply grateful to my Shadow Council members — Hazamarei, Keith, Second, and everyone else — for all their support along the way. I'm so proud that I could make our shared dream come true by bringing this championship home to the Council. My sincere thanks also go to the Ps streaming community, Blue Sky, and everyone who stood behind me. I hope all the Heirs find their true friendships and passion within the world of Epic Seven."
- Xiao Xuenai, after clinching the Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2025
The Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2025 peaked at 28,315 Peak Viewers on the first day of the event: August 16. On this day, the second installment of the Epic Seven 7th Anniversary Showcase was released, revealing updates for the second half of the year and including insights from the development team about future developments for the mobile RPG.
This helped it comfortably beat the concurrent viewers mark set at the Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2024 by 61%. It also ended in the third spot when looking at the most popular tournaments in the title's esports history, sitting behind the 2022 and 2023 editions.

One big reason for this massive jump from 2024 was the number of channels covering the event. It shot up from 33 to 84 this year, helped by an increased interest shown by a lot of community streamers, which also meant that two extra platforms covered the action in 2025: CHZZK and Kick.
What is heartening is the fact that many Western co-casters jumped at the chance to livestream the games and finished among the top channels list. Considering that Epic Seven is a niche game with a core market in Korea, the fact that Spanish and Portuguese-speaking content creators showed high interest helped take the title and its coveted competition to a lot of new viewers.
With a format that included multiple qualifiers and a main event in a double round robin leading into quarterfinals, semifinals, and a best-of-seven grand final, the Epic Seven World Arena Championship 2025 also finished as the game's second-most-watched competition ever. Only the 2022 iteration is ahead by this metric.

Epic Seven has joined a list of games boasting a more regional presence, like Honor of Kings, in seeking to expand its audience base recently. Making its most prestigious tournaments more visible and accessible via co-casters and broadcasting in more languages has paid dividends for the 2025 World Arena Championship, which easily outperformed last year's edition and put up some of the title's best livestreaming numbers.
As more and more such games adopt this method, it will be interesting to see how their livestreaming numbers hold up in the coming years.
