ESL One Raleigh 2025 becomes most popular non-Valve Dota 2 event held in the US
Despite enduring a troubled build-up, the ESL One Raleigh 2025 has gotten off to a great start when looking at its livestreaming numbers. It touched 193,796 Peak Viewers (PV) on Day 1 during the opening round of the Group Stage, a record for any non-Valve-affiliated Dota 2 tournament held in the United States. The previous leader was the DOTA Summit 7 from June 2017, which did almost 178,000 PV.
The peak was reached when teams from Group A were in action, including heavyweights like Team Liquid, Team Spirit, and Shopify Rebellion. After the first round of matches, it is Nigma Galaxy that tops this table with the only unbeaten record, while Team Falcons leads Group B.

The match between Eastern European heavyweights PARIVISION and Team Spirit, which ended 1:1, would have attracted the most audience interest. Moreover, Raleigh 2025 was the first Dota 2 ESL One event to be held in North America since New York 2015, leading to more anticipation among viewers to catch the action live.
This million-dollar prize pool Dota 2 competition seems to have captured the imagination of fans, especially those speaking Russian and English. With all the teams duking it out for EPT Points, which will count towards Esports World Cup 2025 qualification, there is a good chance that the PV numbers will be broken yet again.
