Praising the esports excellence — Esports Awards 2023 results & viewership

On the evening of November 30, the key figures of the esports industry in 2023 were celebrated and recognized at a prestigious event in Las Vegas. The Esports Awards announced winners in 29 categories and presented awards as part of the Lifetime Achievement Class of 2023 segment.

In the primary category, Valorant emerged victorious as the Esports Game of the Year. T1, the winner of the 2023 World Championship in League of Legends, secured the title of Team of the Year, with their longstanding leader, Lee 'Faker' Sang-hyeok, being honored as the PC Player of the Year. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang received recognition as the Esports Mobile Game of the Year.

Regarding the viewership of the award ceremony through live-streaming, the event accumulated over 362,000 hours of watch time within six and a half broadcast hours, boasting an average audience of more than 55,000 concurrent viewers.

  Esports Awards 2023 Broadcasts Statistics   

The peak viewership reached 92,546 concurrent viewers, a number recorded shortly after the announcement of the winner in the main category, Esports Game of the Year. The largest audience among all channels broadcasting the event was on the official Twitch stream, attracting almost 69,000 viewers at its peak. Noteworthy co-casters for the event included Twitch streamers Scump, Cinna, TFToddy, and Ziqoftw, along with YouTuber Raxxanterax, who garnered several thousand viewers at the peak each. The official Kick broadcast of the event reached a peak viewership of 539 people.

The Esports Awards 2023 demonstrated substantial improvement over the previous year's ceremony, with watch time increasing by 147% and peak viewership seeing a rise of 81%. Note that the final figures were influenced by broadcast autoplay on the site of the awards, as well as influx of Indian viewers who usually watch broadcasts on YouTube.

Despite these impressive gains, the 2021 edition of the Esports Awards retains the title of the most successful in terms of viewership. Learn more about the series viewership here.
