Esports World Cup 2025 for Rocket League attracts more viewers than Raleigh Major
With another week gone, we are near the end of the Esports World Cup 2025, which has witnessed some amazing action across its 20+ titles. One of the latest events to conclude was Rocket League, where the battle between home teams and sides from the game's top region helped it reach a higher peak viewership than one of the game's two Majors.
The Esports World Cup 2025 for Rocket League brought together the world's top 16 teams to compete for a $1 million prize pool. It also gave sides a chance to make up places on the Club Championship table as we head to the final week of this multi-disciplinary spectacle.
The title's most popular side, Karmine Corp, triumphed after beating home team Geekay Esports 4:1 in the Grand Final. However, this was only the second-most popular match of this competition, with the top entry coming in the Semifinals, where Team Vitality lost to Geekay Esports 3:4 in an edge-of-the-seat encounter.

The 230,209 Peak Viewers (PV) that this Rocket League tournament reached put it among the year's most popular tournaments in the game. It also outperformed the 2024 edition by a considerable margin, while the number of average viewers watching it more than doubled, shooting up by almost 110%.
France's Karmine Corp is by far the most followed name in Rocket League, thanks to the fame of its owner, Twitch sensation Kamel "kamet0" Kebir. However, with two Saudi Arabian esports organizations also making the last four, the battle between the two sets of fans helped propel the EWC x Rocket League's viewership numbers.

This could be seen in the fact that both French and Arabic saw massive rises in their metrics compared to the Esports World Cup 2024 for Rocket League. The powerhouse European language saw its watch time grow by around 180% as its most popular representative ensured to qualify this time around. If that wasn't enough, Karmine Corp won the entire thing to ensure the trophy for this particular game stayed in France, as Team BDS had won last year's iteration.
Arabian audiences, meanwhile, were consistent in their support for Geekay Esports and Team Falcons. That helped the language enjoy a 165% spike in its hours watched figures this year, with its year-on-year peak concurrent viewership numbers also seeing a positive swing of almost 32%.

Interest among the home fans was also high, as Team Falcons sought maximum points in its quest to retain the Club Championship trophy. Unfortunately, the side could only finish third, but that was enough to give it a 500-point lead on the Club Championship leaderboard.
As already mentioned, the Esports World Cup 2025 for Rocket League has become one of the game's most successful events this year. Apart from being its third most-watched tournament, it is also third by peak concurrent viewers, outperforming the RLCS 2025 - Raleigh Major by around 12,000 viewers.

Among all the events to conclude at the EWC 2025, the Rocket League championship sits in the 15th spot by peak live viewers. It was only able to outdo titles like Overwatch and EA Sports FC, with the debuting Chess event also hitting a higher PV figure.
The EWC x Rocket League also reinforced the vehicular soccer video game's reliance on French sides like Karmine Corp and Gentle Mates Alpine. While home support, like the Saudi Arabian teams witnessed in Riyadh, could help in providing isolated spikes in audience reach, the viewership potential very much remains dependent on the good displays of the French teams.

In its last event at the EWC 2025, Karmine Corp claimed its first-ever championship at the Saudi Arabia series. Team Vitality was also almost eliminated from Club Championship trophy contention after a heartbreaking loss to Team Falcons in the third-place match.
The French esports organization is in third place, currently, 950 points behind Team Falcons. Crucially, it has only one more tournament to come, Counter-Strike, in the final week. Meanwhile, the leader will participate in all three championships, with Street Fighter 6 and CrossFire being the other titles on offer.
