EWC 2025 Free Fire sets new 2025 esports record for game with 18% peak viewers boost
The Esports World Cup 2025 Free Fire event showed considerably increased viewership across all major metrics, building on the success of last year’s inaugural iteration, which was the second-most popular event of the year. At this year’s summer gaming festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the mobile gaming tournament wracked up over 550,000 Peak Viewers.
Last year’s EWC Free Fire tournament was a successful entrance to the game for the new Saudi esports series. It reached well over 450,000 concurrent viewers for its final, and cemented itself as the top-performing, third-party event for the mobile game that year. This year’s edition built on this success, boosting viewership even higher and enjoying a wide spread of viewers, largely from Asia and Latin America.

In total, the EWC 2025 Free Fire tournament received over 5,930,000 Hours Watched and maintained a strong 292,109 Average Viewers (AV) throughout its 20 hours of broadcasting time. Crucially, not only was this event popular at its peak compared to other Free Fire events this year, it highly outperformed the competition in terms of its average concurrent viewership. The short, punchy format of the tournament and its million-dollar prize pool helped it to generate massive hype throughout the weekend.
At this edition of the EWC, Indonesian teams seemed a step above the competition, taking up all three podium places. Iconic organizations like Team Vitality, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ Kazu), and EVOS made up the podium, with EVOS Divine claiming the Esports World Cup title for Indonesia. The Indonesian and Portuguese language peaks were reached during the final games with these teams.
However, the top Bengali language peak for the EWC 2025 was not reached during the finals, but rather the earlier Knockout Stage. Supports from Bangladesh tuned in and cheered on their local champions, Red Hawks. Although this team unfortunately exited the tournament in last place, their fans still set a new Free Fire record before they exited. This 206,239 Bengali Peak is not only a new record for Free Fire esports, but it more than doubled the previous FF Bengali record.

Compared to other tournaments throughout 2025 so far, the Esports World Cup event ranks far ahead of the competition. Last year, only the Global Finals were able to dethrone the EWC from its top spot; the winners of the EWC 2025, EVOS Divine, earned a direct qualification to this year’s Global Finals in Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 31 to November 15. It’s likely this event will again outperform the EWC, as it was in 2014.
The mobile gaming action at the Esports World Cup 2025 continues soon with the MLBB Mid Season Cup, PUBG Mobile, and more. Keep an eye on our socials and blog for the latest updates in the viewership statistics of this year’s Riyadh gaming festival.
