Rainbow Six esports sets new third-party viewership record with Esports World Cup

Aug 11, 2025 3 min read

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege X at the Esports World Cup 2025 was a highlight for European roster Team Secret, who dominated the playoffs stage without losing a single map. The tournament drew massive attention, setting a new record for the highest viewership ever seen in a third-party Rainbow Six event.

Rainbow Six has a long history with the Esports World Cup; it was one of the series’ debut titles, and it was also involved with the previous Gamers8 series hosted out of Riyadh. 2025 marked the year that the EWC was finally able to break into the scene properly, and receive viewership comparable to other top tournaments for R6.

Viewership of Esports World Cup for Rainbow Six fans significantly increased this year. Not only was the tournament broadcast by various official channels like the Rainbow6 Twitch stream, it was also covered by many co-streamers such as North American influencer Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart, who became the most popular broadcaster of the event by Peak Viewers (PV).

In total, with the various official broadcasts and diverse spread of co-streamers supporting the event, the Esports World Cup 2025 received a quarter of a million live viewers at peak for its grand finals between Team Secret and G2 Esports. Both of the finalists are European teams, and in the end, English-language audiences were the largest fan group for the tournament by a wide margin.

Outside the main audience, Brazilian fans cheered on FURIA: the team was defeated by G2 Esports in the semifinals, but managed to secure third-place with a 2:0 win over Spacestation Gaming on the final day. The grand finals was by far the most popular match, coming just shy of eclipsing 250,000 PV for the climatic moments of each of the maps: if the finals had gone to a third map, it may have been able to reach a slightly higher ultimate peak.

Most popular third-party Rainbow Six Siege tournaments

Compared to other top Rainbow 6 esports events, the Esports World Cup 2025 lagged behind only official events such as the Six Major and Six Invitational tournaments. These yearly championships have often reached over 300,000 PV, with the EWC 2025 just barely ranking outside the top 10 most popular tournaments ever for R6. As the most popular third-party event, EWC 2025 marked a major milestone for Rainbow Six esports viewership.

The Esports World Cup isn’t over this year yet, there’s still two more weeks of action to go and events for games like Rocket League, Street Fighter 6, Counter-Strike 2, and many more.
