FC Pro 24 Open doubles previous most-watched event of the game with playoffs yet to begin
As the FC Pro 24 Open approaches its finals, the interest among fans has hit a milestone high. The first-ever big-ticket tournament in FIFA's new iteration, EA Sports FC 24, has been attracting huge audiences and etched its name in the discipline's record books as its most-watched event ever.
The FC Pro 24 Open has notched 319.5K Peak Viewers and 166.5 Average Viewers over 33 hours of airtime so far, with its 5.4M Hours Watched being a record in the FIFA/FC 24 competitive segment. It was at least 114.5% higher than the FUT Champions Cup Barcelona 2018, the previous leader.

The most popular moment arrived during the Group A Week 1 clash between Duchman EmreYilmaz (Team Gullit) and Germany's Umut from RBLZ Gaming. It was a meeting for national pride between two regional rivals and also pitted the reigning FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 winner against the defending eChampions League 2023 victor. The latter won 4:2 to give his country bragging rights for the moment.
The FC Pro 24 Open began on November 27 in London, with 20 of the world's best players duking it out to be crowned the inaugural champion. After eight weeks of intense group stage action, Phzin, Young, Vejrgang, AbuMakkah, Obrun2002, and LevideWeerd joined the two names above in booking spots in the Quarterfinals.

These players represent football-mad countries like Saudi Arabia, Italy, and Denmark, with Brazil and The Netherlands having two entries each, so the hype for the action has been tremendous. Fans will not have to wait long to catch the final few games, as the FC Pro 24 Open Finals will take place on February 3, where all the knockout games will be played and the competition winner will be decided.
A big reason for the FC Pro 24 Open hitting a viewership watch time record and still being in with a chance at beating the all-time FIFA/FC 24 peak viewership milestone was the drops made available. All audiences had to do was link their YouTube or Twitch accounts to their EA accounts, watch an eligible broadcast, and claim the reward on the viewing service.
There’s also a lot of hype around the game thanks to the recent announcement of the Team of the Year cards for Ultimate Team, which saw the game set a new record with nearly 600K PV. This spike in its popularity on Twitch came despite the full list of TOTY players only scheduled for a reveal on February 2.
This has also ensured that the average viewership has remained stable across this EA Sports FC 24 tournament, with this figure also being a record for the discipline. With the likes of Emre Yilmaz, PHzin, LevideWeerd, and Vejrgang (who went unbeaten in the Group Stage) looking to etch their names in history, there is a chance this event creates even more history come the Grand Final.
