The Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2024 was held from November 8 to 24 at the Rio Centro Convention and the Carioca Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It ended as the second-most-watched event in the series and as the game's second-most-watched international championship, led by the success of one of the most famous Brazilian esports organizations today.

The biggest competition on Free Fire's annual calendar saw Fluxo edge past RRQ Kazu by three points to hand the hosts its second straight world title. Interestingly, the same roster had clinched the 2023 iteration after dominating the Grand Final and emerging as the world champion with a lead of 17 points.

Brazil is now the joint-most successful nation in the Free Fire World Series by wins. Its three global crowns are tied with Thailand, making them the only two countries to stand atop the podium of these events. While Fluxo took home $300,000 for its triumph, Indonesian runner-up RRQ Kazu had the consolation of becoming richer by $150,000.

The Free Fire World Series - Global Finals 2024 hit 751.2K Peak Viewers (PV) during Round 6 of the Grand Finals. It was the final game of this phase, and RRQ Kazu appeared poised to go home the winner as it was in the lead, but Fluxo won its third Winner Winner Chicken Dinner to shock viewers and send home fans into a tizzy.

With other Brazilian representatives in the form of paiN Gaming and Corinthians also finishing in the top ten, this event notched 9.2M Hours Watched (HW) and 255.5K Average Viewers (AV) over 36 hours of airtime. There were also three Thai teams on the top ten of the final leaderboard, with the third-placed Buriram United Esports again missing out after finishing as the runner-up in 2023.

These numbers were improvements on what was witnessed at the Free Fire World Series 2023, led by the success of Fluxo. Its journey to becoming the world champion attracted a massive online Portuguese crown, as seen in the fact that its HW and PV figures surged by 51% and 69%, respectively.

Intriguingly, Vietnamese viewers stuck around to catch all the action, helping raise its overall watch time this year. However, with its most successful side, WAG, finishing in seventh, a drop of two spots from last year, the peak of this interest came during Round 1 of the Grand Final.

Indonesian also improved massively compared to the 2023 Free Fire competition, helped by RRQ Kazu's amazing run. Its watch time and peak concurrent viewership this year climbed by 45.7% and 121.2%, respectively, as the side matches its country's best run across six events of the FFWS.

As mentioned earlier, the FFWS - Global Finals 2024 ended as the series' second-most watched tournament, behind only the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore. It also finished among the game's all-time top ten by the same metric — with this list dominated by entries from Brazil — and as the discipline's second-most-watched international championship.

With a return to the Free Fire World Series branding for all the local leagues and the introduction of a mid-season international championship that is part of the Esports World Cup (which was announced to be returning in 2025 at the Global Finals), the game has been recapturing the audience reach that made it such a force during the early pandemic era. Led by regions like Brazil, Indonesia, and Thailand, the game looks set to once again become one of the leaders in the mobile esports market.
