FIFAe Club World Cup grows in watch time compared to 2022 edition
Between the 6th and 9th of July this year, the FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 took place in Saudi Arabia. The 2v2 efootball event saw 24 teams from around the world come to the Middle East to compete. The final FIFAe Club event of the year saw RBLZ Gaming come out on top to claim the trophy and $300,000 USD of the $1,000,000 total prize pool.
FIFA’s efootball events started to take shape in 2004, and since then the esport has evolved to become its own entity with a dedicated brand: FIFAe. The organisation currently hosts three main events a year, with a combined $3,000,000 USD total prize pool equally divided among the tournaments. FIFAe host a World Cup tournament where the best players from around the world compete in a 1v1 format, a Club World Cup where the best clubs compete in a 2v2 format, and a Nations Cup where the nations from around the world build teams to compete in a 2v2 tournament.
The recent FIFAe Club World Cup was one of the most successful efootball events of the year, but how well exactly did it perform?

English was the most popular language of the event by quite a margin. Although the community for FIFAe events are hugely international and diverse, the official streams are hosted in English and these are the streams that receive the most viewership.
However, other European languages remained popular and showed a statistically relevant amount of viewership. Iwe11y’s Arabic fanbase was of course not to be underestimated, but as mentioned before, the national teams of various countries drew in huge amounts of viewership and also costreams. The event was streamed on 56 different channels on Twitch and YouTube, many of these streams coming from creators supporting their national team.
Comparison of FIFA esports events in 2023

Comparison of the most-watched events for FIFA esports in 2023
The FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 was the second most successful FIFA esports event of the year. It couldn’t manage to surpass the eChampions League 2023, the most successful event of the year so far. Although in the past the biggest FIFA esports events have been able to garner millions of Hours Watched, no tournament has managed to hit the seven figures mark so far this year.
The Club World Cup 2023 was closely followed behind by the eLigue 1 2023, however, this event was covered for 155 hours of Airtime, running for almost half the year. When turning our attention to Average Viewers, its simple to see that the ePremier League 2023 Finals were much more popular than the eLigue. The ePremier League 2023 Finals peaked at 38K concurrent viewers and maintained an Average Viewers of over 20K.
The FIFAe Club World Cup 2023 was the second most popular event of 2023, and the second most popular Club World Cup ever, falling behind the 2020 iteration. With momentum behind the efootball discipline, the upcoming FIFAe World Cup 2023 could be one of the biggest events of the year. The FIFAe World Cup is traditionally the most popular event hosted by FIFAe, and with the Club World Cup 2023 showing promising numbers, keep an eye out for the international event hosted in Saudi Arabia, starting on the 16th of July 2023.
