Brazilian esports club Fluxo may buy the Rensga Esports slot in the CBLOL League of Legends franchise league. This was reported by Esports Insider journalists.
In 2021, when CBLOL was franchised by Riot Games, Rensga Esports paid the developers about $760K for the slot. The deal between Fluxo and Rensga has not been disclosed, but journalists expect that as of today, the buyout amount for the slot will be much higher. We just have to note that in Europe and the USA the cost of slots in franchise leagues reaches tens of millions of dollars.
In the spring split of 2021, Rensga Esports took the last, tenth spot among all league participants. In the summer split of the same year, the team unexpectedly became a silver medalist, beating the more famous paiN Gaming and LOUD in the playoffs. According to Esports Insider, the management of Rensga decided to sell the slot, as in 2023 they plan to re-profile the club and focus not on esports, but content creation. The sources of journalists also claim that another CBLOL member, the Miners team, is also thinking about selling the slot.
The Fluxo esports club was created in January 2021 by Free Fire stars Bruno Nobru Goes and Lucio Cerol Lima. In addition to the Free Fire roster, Fluxo also has a CS:GO roster, which was signed by the club in August 2022.
Other regional League of Legends leagues also feature bidding around franchise league slots. For example, in July 2022, the Spanish organization Team Heretics bought a slot from Misfits Gaming, and in the spring of 2023, it will make its debut in the LEC. According to unconfirmed reports, the leadership of the American club Team SoloMid is also thinking of selling its LCS slot to transport the team to the European league. According to rumors, Astralis is also considering selling its LEC slot.
