Two major Free Fire tournaments recently ended — League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing for Latin America and India Championship 2021 Fall for teams from India and Nepal. In the new article, Esports Charts will summarize the results of the competition and tell you which championship had the highest viewer activity.
League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing results and statistics
The matches of League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing took place from August 14 to October 24. The championship was attended by 24 Latin American teams, including the teams representing the football clubs "Real Betis" and "Guadalajara". Participants of the competition fought for slots in the next season of the league, and also raffled off a prize pool of $150K, which is one of the highest in the region. The winner of the event was Genesis E-Sports, which received $51K.

The League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing was broadcast exclusively in Spanish and received over 3.2M Hours Watched over 64 hours of airtime. The matches of the championship were watched by 51K Average Viewers, with the finals attracting 575.3K Peak Viewers.
YouTube has become the main streaming platform for the Latin American championship given that mobile disciplines are not very popular on the other services. In addition to YouTube, the League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing matches were also broadcast on Booyah (a platform from the Free Fire developers), but the stream of the event was watched by merely 5.65K Peak Viewers.
India Championship 2021 Fall results and statistics
The India Championship 2021 Fall ran from September 17 to October 17. The tournament was attended by 18 teams from India and Nepal, which competed for a prize pool of $100K, which also happens to be one of the highest in the region.
Among the participants in the India Championship 2021 Fall were the rosters of well-known esports organizations, for example, Nigma Galaxy and Team SoloMid, which has Indian and Brazilian rosters in the discipline. The winner of the event was Team Elite, which was awarded $46.8K in prize money as well as tournament slots for League India 2021 Winter and Asia Championship 2021.

India Championship 2021 Fall generated 22% fewer Hours Watched than League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing, but that’s given that the former tournament was broadcast almost half the time. At the same time, its Average and Peak Viewers indicators turned out to be 46.7% and 10.2% higher than those of the Latin American tournament.
The main language of the India Championship 2021 Fall was Hindi, with 556K Peak Viewers being the Hindi-language ones. Unlike the League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing, the tournament was not limited to one language – with English, Nepali, Tamil, and Bengali also contributing to the Peak Viewers indicator. While the audience of the last three languages followed the teams from the regions where these languages are spoken most of all, the interest of the English-speaking audience is aimed at the Indian teams. That’s because English is also widely spoken among the population of India, and is also recognized as the state language.
Just like with the League Latinoamerica 2021 Closing, YouTube generated most of the views for the India Championship 2021 Fall. However, the audience of the tournament also showed activity on Booyah, amounting to 29.1K Peak Viewers (five times more than during the Latin American event).
India’s interest in Free Fire is on the rise
The popularity of the Free Fire esports scene in India keeps rising. Game publisher Garena has skillfully taken advantage of the problems of its main rival, PUBG Mobile, which has been banned in the country since September last year. Now the fans of mobile "battle royales" in the country are increasingly interested in Free Fire.

Compared to the spring Free Fire India Championship, the tournament's audience has tripled. If the March event was watched by 24.8K Average Viewers, then this time it reached the mark of 74.7K Average Viewers. The Peak Viewers indicator has shown similar growth – from 231K to 634K people.
At the same time, the popularity of the Latin American League has dropped significantly. Spring Free Fire League Latinoamerica 2021 Opening was the most popular event in the discipline in terms of Peak Viewers and total Hours Watched. However, the autumn championship had almost two times fewer Average Viewers (98.5K versus 50.9K viewers). The league’s Peak Viewers indicator decreased by 250%: in the spring the championship was simultaneously watched by up to 1.4M viewers, compared to only 575K in the autumn.
Despite varying dynamics across different regions, Free Fire remains one of the most popular games and esports disciplines in both India and Latin America. It is the tournaments in these disciplines that are leading by a huge margin in the respective languages (Hindi and Spanish).
