How to Edit Info in Esports Charts Database

Sep 16, 2024 8 min read

For many, Esports Charts is primarily a rich database of esports tournaments and various events in the livestreaming industry. Others often seek exclusive statistics on the popularity, performance, or earnings of teams. Some are interested in comparing players across different metrics.

Information on key esports athletes, tournaments, organizations, or specific rosters frequently requires updates or clarification. In this article, we’ll explain in detail how users can contribute to the Esports Charts database, how to remove incorrect information, how to speed up the approval process for edits, and what rewards can be obtained for making these contributions.

How to Add Esports Events to the Esports Charts Database

The Esports Charts database is rich with a vast variety of games, ranging from top-tier titles like League of Legends and Valorant, to mobile hits like Free Fire, Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile. It also includes local phenomena like Halo and even GeoGuessr, and much more.

Even though our content team tracks data even from Tier-3 events across various titles, it’s still hard for us to keep up with everything. That’s why we greatly appreciate when our users contribute by adding events to our database themselves.

How to add tournaments to Esports Charts

  1. Visit Escharts.com/submit

  2. Fill out the form

  3. Click ‘Send’

  4. Wait for confirmation from ESC team

Alternatively, you can submit a new event or esports tournament through the Tournaments tab. Simply click "Submit Event" in the upper-right corner of the screen and fill out the form.

Note that all contributions are reviewed by our administrators, who can either accept or reject the proposed changes. Accepted/declined contributions will be reflected in the notification window. In addition, on the profile page, you can see the status of the sent contribution.

To ensure that the event page at least appears in the Esports Charts database, you need to fill out four mandatory fields:

  • Event name

  • Esports Title (Select 'Other' if you can't find the game you're looking for)

  • Start Date

  • End Date

If you want not only to be listed among events, but also to access viewership statistics for the tournament or event in the future, please make sure to fill out the additional fields in the form. This includes the event organizer (or contractor), the type of event (online or offline), and other details such as event page and schedule.

You can significantly speed up the process of adding a tournament to the site by including a link to detailed information about the event. Additionally, if you know livestream channels where the broadcasts will be held, you can include those in advance as well.

Please note that the approval process for contributions usually takes 1–3 days. If you have any questions, you can always reach out to us at [email protected].

How to edit tournament info on Esports Charts

If you notice that an existing event page in the Esports Charts database contains inaccurate or incomplete information, you can suggest corrections. While on the event page, click the 'Edit' button located above the details block on the right side of the screen. In the pop-up window, you can update the title, dates, event type, and other details.

If the tournament information is complete, but the page lacks statistics, you can help it appear on the site more quickly. Include a link in your contribution where details about the event’s broadcast channels can be found.

(Alert) If you only provide links to the official broadcast channels for the tournament, only those will likely be reflected in the final data. If you want to include community casters’ statistics as well (if streamers are allowed to cover the event), be sure to list them too. We can also assist with data compilation, just email us at [email protected].

On the Tournaments tab, Esports Charts not only lists individual events but also compiles data on tournament series. While you cannot make edits directly on the Event Series page, you still can point out noticed errors or omissions by emailing us at [email protected].

How to Edit Team Info on Esports Charts

It’s no secret that esports features both teams (rosters that compete in one or, rarely, a few games), as well as multi-regional and multi-game organizations that bring together players and teams across various titles, also often including content creators. On Esports Charts, you can contribute information about both. Here’s how it works with teams:

  1. Find the team on Esports Teams

  2. Open team’s page

  3. Click ‘Edit’ next to the name of the team

  4. Fill out the form(s)

  5. Click ‘Contribute’

The team page includes a variety of information blocks. You can:

  • Add or update team logos.

  • Specify the geographic location of the team.

  • List sponsors

  • Provide social media links

  • Add players and detail their in-game roles

  • … much more.

Can't find the player you need in the Esports Charts database to add to your roster? You can report this to us through the ‘Add comment’ field in the team contribution form.

Which teams are added to Esports Charts?

We often get asked how teams are added to the Esports Charts database. In general, teams make the cut if they participate in broadcasted esports matches. The larger and more notable the tournament, the higher the chances of a team being added. Naturally, it's tough to track every team, so some Tier-3 teams may be missing; their profiles typically get added once the team competes in a major tournament.

How to Edit Organization Info on Esports Charts

Updating information for organizations works the same way as for teams. This is how you can make contributions:

  1. Find the organization on Esports Organizations

  2. Open club’s page

  3. Click ‘Edit’ next to the name of the team

  4. Fill out the form(s)

  5. Click ‘Contribute’

The contributions form for organizations is almost identical to that for teams. One key difference is that you can specify the current rosters for the club across different games for organizations. Organization profiles are created if a club has two or more active teams. If you meet this requirement and don’t yet have a profile, you can reach out to us at [email protected].

How to Add or Edit Player Information on Esports Charts

In addition to events, event series, organizations, and teams, Esports Charts also has a separate tab for players where users can also make contributions. While users cannot add new players themselves, they can edit information on existing player profiles:

  1. Find a player at Escharts.com/players

  2. Open player profile

  3. Click ‘Edit’ next to the player’s name

  4. Make contributions and save changes

  5. Wait for approval

For players, you can add a wide range of diverse data, including not only basic information such as name, surname, and a brief biography but also detailed information such as:

  • Current and former teams

  • Links to socials

  • Info on gear the player uses

A player's page can be improved significantly with additional info. For example, you can add the player's Twitch profile, which will automatically pull in a link to their channel from Streams Charts, providing valuable livestream viewership data.

Rewards for Top Contributors

We greatly appreciate all our users who help refine information and statistics about events. Our most active contributors are also rewarded.

For example, Esports Charts users who are also members of our Discord server can make ten contributions accepted by our moderators and thus earn a special status (their Discord account must be linked to their Esports Charts profile).

The best part is that the most active contributors can receive a PRO subscription as a reward for helping Esports Charts. This subscription is valid for one month and provides access to advanced viewership statistics for all events in our database.
