How to watch the 2025 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational
The best League of Legends (LoL) teams from around the world will gather in North America on June 27 to battle it out for the Mid-Season Invitational 2025, the second cross-regional trophy of the year. It will be the first of two consecutive global events to take place across the summer, the other being the Esports World Cup 2025 to the held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will feature ten teams, two from each circuit, competing in Vancouver, Canada, as they strive to claim international bragging rights. With fans anticipating another explosive competition full of intense action, Esports Charts has put together a complete guide for fans and viewers to catch one of the most anticipated tournaments on the annual LoL esports calendar.
Mid-Season Invitational 2025 schedule and format
The latest MSI edition, carrying a substantial prize pool of $2 million, will have two stages, with the entire event lasting a little over two weeks:
- Play-In - June 27 to 29 (All matches begin at 5 p.m. PDT / 2 a.m. CEST +1 / 8 a.m. CST +1 unless otherwise noted)
- Bracket Stage - July 1 to 12 (All matches begin at 5 p.m. PDT / 2 a.m. CEST +1 / 8 a.m. CST +1 unless otherwise noted)
In terms of qualification, the top two teams from each region (ten in total) have made it to the MSI 2025. The first seed from each league and the second seed from the LCK (the winning region of the First Stand 2025) will get a bye into the Bracket Stage, while the other four sides will begin their journeys from the Play-In Stage.
In the Play-In Stage, the four teams will play in a GSL-style Group, where their seedings will be based on results from the inaugural First Stand. The top two, i.e., sides with 2-0 and 2-1 records, will qualify for the Bracket Stage. All the matches in this round will be played in a best-of-five (Bo5) format and will use the Fearless Draft.
In the Bracket Stage, the eight rosters will play a double-elimination bracket, with all the games being Bo5 and using Fearless Draft. Teams will be matched based on draw tiers and First Stand 2025 results, and sides from the same region must be placed on opposite sides of the bracket. The draw tiers are:
- Tier 1: LCK1, LEC1
- Tier 2: LCP1, LPL1
- Tier 3: LTA1, LCK2
- Tier 4: Play-Ins Teams (2 teams)
The winner will also qualify for the 2025 World Championship, with the second-placed side earning a fourth seed for its domestic league at the coveted Worlds.

So far in 2025, the LCK has been the most preferred series by a mile, with three of its events among the game's most popular events. The LCK Road to MSI 2025 tops the pile with 1.96 million Peak Viewers (PV), reiterating its popularity among not only Korean audiences but also global viewers as sides like T1, Gen.G, and Hanwha Life Esports consistently offer world-class gameplay.

The First Stand 2025, meanwhile, reached only 1.1 million concurrent viewers, which was lower than fans' expectations for a debut international event. Factors like an inconvenient time zone and the absence of popular teams meant that the first edition of this new global championship had a few teething issues.
Getting back to the MSI 2025, Esports Charts will track and supply data throughout its run. From the opening round to the Grand Final, which could have severe implications for the Worlds 2025, we will collect viewership data on the second international event on the League of Legends 2025 calendar.
