Viewership statistics of ESL One Berlin Major 2023 will be available here
The participants of ESL One Berlin Major 2023 will traditionally compete for a prize pool of $500,000, as well as DPC points, which will be needed for a direct invite to The International 2023. 18 teams from six regions will compete at the tournament.
Alas, not all teams will play in full squads. Several players from Russia could not get visas to Germany in time, so they will be replaced by European e-athletes. OG, BetBoom Team and 9 Pandas have already announced forced reshuffles before the start of the tournament. The stand-in will also be used by Team Aster, whose mid player was moved to the bench shortly before the tournament, thus SumaiL from Nigma Galaxy will play instead of him.
Let us also remind you that ESL One Berlin Major 2023 will be the first major tournament to be held on the new patch, 7.33. The update was released on the night of April 21st: the developers have made a lot of balance changes, for example, increased the size of the map, added new artifacts, completely or partially reworked some heroes, etc.
ESL One Berlin Major 2023 format
The format of ESL One Berlin Major 2023 does not differ from other majors. First, the teams will play a series of matches in the group stage (two groups of nine teams), after which they will continue to fight in the playoffs with a double-elimination bracket. In groups, all series will be played in the best-of-2 format, best-of-3 in the playoffs, and the finalists will need to win three maps to claim the title.
