M3 World Championship is the main tournament of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene. The tournament kicks off soon, on December 6. Esports Charts has compiled some key information about the tournament, including the format, participants and broadcasts of the event.

M3 World Championship schedule:

  • Group stage: December 6-9;
  • Play-offs: December 11-18;
  • Grand Final: December 19.

Prize money pool: $800K (a record sum for the discipline).

M3 World Championship participants and format:

The tournament will feature 16 teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brazil, Turkey, Peru, Singapore, USA, CIS and Central Asia. Asian and Brazilian teams were selected for the tournament based on the results of the MPL regional leagues, while the remaining teams made it through regional qualifiers.

The group stage will be a round-robin system and the play-offs will have a double-elimination format. All matches of the winners will be best-of-five, before the third round all lower matches will be bo3, and after that, it will be bo5. The grand final will be bo7.

At the end of the group stage, teams are not knocked out but earn points which will determine their play-off places.

Despite the pandemic, the tournament will be held with live spectators. The M3 World Championship play-off stage will take place in Singapore, with matches hosted at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Where to watch the M3 World Championship:

Official broadcasts will be held in 10 languages: English, Indonesian, Philippine, Malay, Burmese, Khmer, Russian, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese.
