The fifth edition of Valorant’s biggest esports event is just around the corner. Starting tomorrow, September 12, Valorant Champions 2025 will bring together the world’s top teams in Paris for three and a half weeks of competition to decide who stands at the very top. Here’s everything you need to know about the event, brought to you by Esports Charts.

Valorant Champions 2025 dates and location

Valorant Champions 2025 will run from September 12 to October 5 and will be split into two stages with a short break in between.

  • Group Stage (September 12–22):

    • The group stage will feature four groups of four teams each, played in a GSL format with best-of-three matches. The top two teams from every group will advance to the playoffs.

  • Playoffs (September 25 – October 5):

    • The playoffs will follow a double-elimination bracket. All matches will be played as best-of-three, except for the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final, which will be best-of-five.

The tournament will be held in France. The group stage and the early playoff rounds will take place in Évry-Courcouronnes, a suburb of Paris. The final four teams will then battle it out at the iconic Accor Arena in the French capital.

All teams at Valorant Champions 2025

Sixteen of the world’s best teams will compete at Valorant Champions 2025, with four representatives from each regional league: AmericasEMEA, Pacific, and China.

Teams earned their spots through two main paths: the top two finishers from Stage 2 of each league, plus the two teams with the highest total circuit points across the full season (including domestic and international events). If a team qualifies through both methods, their Stage 2 slot is counted first, and the next highest-ranked team by circuit points takes the additional spot.

The lineup features some of the season’s biggest winners, including T1, champions of Valorant Masters Bangkok, Paper Rex, winners of Valorant Masters Toronto, as well as the reigning world champions, EDward Gaming.

Valorant Champions 2025 prize pool

The prize pool for Valorant Champions 2025 remains unchanged from last year, totaling $2.25 million. The champion will take home a full $1 million, while the rest will be distributed among all other participants. Even the teams eliminated at the bottom of their groups will still secure $20,000 each.

In addition, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of Valorant Champions 2025 will receive a special prize: a custom bracelet designed by one of the tournament’s partners. Last year, the honor went to Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang of EDward Gaming.

Valorant Champions 2025 viewership expectations

As Valorant’s flagship event, Champions has consistently attracted over one million live viewers, cementing its place as one of the biggest spectacles in the scene. Still, it hasn’t always been the top-performing tournament of the year. Masters events often steal the spotlight, with one of them still holding the all-time peak viewership record for the game.

The last time Valorant Champions set a viewership high was back in 2022. Since then, it hasn’t come close to breaking a new record, but Champions 2025 could finally be the event to raise the bar once again.
