IEM Fall 2021: Viewership Stats and Tournament Results

In early October, the IEM Fall 2021 matches ended in the CIS, South America and Oceania, and all participants of PGL Major Stockholm 2021 from these regions were determined. In the new material, Esports Charts will tell you about the results of IEM Fall in three divisions, and also compare its statistics with the rest of the RMR tournaments of 2021 in listed regions.

The best viewership activity at IEM Fall 2021 was shown by the tournament for the CIS. This division got 2.7M Hours Watched with 104.6K average viewers. The grand final of the competition between the main stars of the region — NAVI and Gambit — had the biggest number of peak viewers, 221.3K people watched the match simultaneously.

Teams from South America and Oceania failed to even get close to the statistics of the CIS division. These events generated 68.4% and 96.8% less HW, and their PV was 3 and 13 times lower.

In addition to IEM Fall, several more RMR tournaments were held in the CIS, South America and Oceania in 2021. The most popular of them was StarLadder CIS RMR 2021, which reached 5M HW and the largest number of Peak Viewers — 331.2K people.

It is followed by IEM Fall 2021 CIS. The competition lagged behind its predecessor in terms of Hours Watched and Peak Viewers, but surpassed it in terms of average viewers by 36%.

At the same time, IEM Fall 2021 CIS was several times shorter than other RMR tournaments in the region. For comparison, the event was on the air for only 27 hours, StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 was live for 68 hours, and EPIC CIS League Spring 2021 went for 146 hours (this is the highest figure among all RMR tournaments in 2021 in three regions).

Despite this duration, the EPIC CIS League Spring 2021 indicators were the smallest in the CIS. This is due to the fact that NAVI was kicked out of the tournament early. The team played well in the group stage, but sensationally lost to Akuma in the opening playoff match, after that they played two more matches and finished their performance.

EPIC Oceania League Spring 2021 demonstrated the weakest viewership activity among the RMR tournaments of 2021 in Oceania, CIS and South America. The tournament could not reach even 70K HW, and the average number of viewers at its matches did not exceed 1.7K people.

IEM Fall 2021 South America surpassed the previous RMR tournaments of 2021 for South America by some metrics, but could not overtake the very first event in terms of PV. It was prevented by the poor performance of team MIBR, which did not get to the grand final: otherwise IEM Fall SA might have become the most watched RMR event of SA in 2021.

PGL Major Stockholm 2021 will take place from October 26 to November 7 in Stockholm. 24 teams with the required number of points to enter the Major will compete for a record $2 million in prize money.
