The 2025 LCP Season Finals delivered thrilling moments, fierce competition and a glimpse at the rising powerhouses of the Pacific region — but it also revealed some unexpected trends in viewership. While the best teams secured their spots at the World Championship, audience numbers told a different story, highlighting shifts in fan engagement across languages and platforms.

CTBC Flying Oyster emerged as the top team of the LCP 2025 Season Finals, adding another trophy to a dominant year after already winning the LCP Season Kickoff and LCP Mid-Season. The Taiwanese squad once again outclassed the competition, leaving no room for upsets. Joining them in the top three were Secret Whales and PSG Talon. All three teams have qualified for the upcoming 2025 World Championship, where they’ll begin their run in the Swiss Stage.

One of the biggest surprises was GAM Esports’ disappointing run. As the league’s most popular team, they usually attract the largest audience from Vietnam, a key region for the league. But at the Season Finals, GAM finished in fourth place and missed out on qualifying for the 2025 World Championship. That result has already hurt viewership for the Season Finals and will likely have an impact on Worlds as well. While Secret Whales will also represent Vietnam, it remains uncertain whether they can draw the same level of local support that GAM Esports typically commands.

LCP 2025 Season Finals Viewership Statistics

Viewership for the LCP 2025 Season Finals fell well short of the Mid-Season event. Still, this is nothing unusual for esports seasons that use a split format.

Total watch hours dropped by 23%, while peak concurrent viewership sank by 43%. Nearly every major broadcast language — including Vietnamese, Chinese, and English — saw declines. The key factor was GAM Esports’ early exit, as noted earlier.

The lone exception was Japanese, which recorded an increase in peak viewership and climbed into the top three languages by audience size this season. A major factor was the surge in viewership on the channels of streamers alfrea and yukiofps14, who nearly doubled their peak viewers compared to the previous season.

The season’s most-watched match was the lower bracket final between PSG Talon and Team Secret Whales, peaking at 272,200 viewers. While that number surpassed the first season, it still fell well short of the Mid-Season’s top match. The grand final between CTBC Flying Oyster and Team Secret Whales came in as the second most popular series of the tournament.

Beyond GAM Esports’ early exit, several other factors contributed to the drop in viewership for the LCP 2025 Season Finals. The biggest was CTBC Flying Oyster’s overwhelming dominance, which drained the matches of suspense and, in turn, dampened audience interest.

The lack of NimoTV broadcasts also played a role in the decline. In the Mid-Season, the platform ranked third overall and accounted for roughly 5.5% of total watch time.
