In 2025, Riot Games made major changes to the structure of the professional League of Legends scene. One of the biggest moves was the launch of the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP), a new league that brought together top teams from the VCS, PCS, LJL, and LCO. Recently, Esports Charts revealed the viewership stats for the first week of LCP Split 1 2025, and the numbers were pretty impressive.

With LCP, Riot Games aims to streamline the esports landscape in Asia and Oceania by consolidating several smaller, lesser-known leagues into one major competition. The league features the best teams from Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, and Australia, and replaces the previous structure where certain teams dominated their regional leagues for years and almost automatically qualified for international tournaments. Now, those teams will have to fight for spots alongside their regional rivals.

The first week of LCP Split 1 2025 took place from January 17 to 19, with six matches played. Currently, CTBC Flying Oyster from Taiwan leads the standings with two series wins. At the bottom is Fukuoka HAWKS Gaming from Japan, still searching for their first win. Notably, four teams in the LCP also participated in the 2024 World Championship.

In the first week of LCP Split 1 2025, the matches generated over 1,800,000 Hours Watched. The average viewership per broadcast was 96,818, with a peak of 216,461 concurrent viewers. The most popular series of the week was the match between GAM Esports and Fukuoka HAWKS Gaming, which saw the Vietnamese team come out on top.

The top three most-watched matches also included games between Vikings Esports and CTBC Flying Oyster, as well as GAM Esports. Overall, the biggest buzz from viewers was around the matches featuring Vietnamese teams.

With LCP Split 1 2025 being a new league that brings together teams from different regions, it has led to some interesting results in a variety of languages. After the first week, Vietnamese broadcasts are leading by a wide margin, making up over 59% of the total watch hours. Japanese and Chinese streams on Western platforms are close behind, each accounting for 19% of the total watch hours. English-language streams, however, have struggled to gain traction, representing less than 2% of the total viewership — indicating low interest from Western audiences.

YouTube has proven to be the most popular platform for LCP Split 1 2025, generating about half of the league's total watch hours. The remaining viewership comes from Twitch and NimoTV. Interestingly, while Twitch has more total watch hours, NimoTV currently leads in the number of viewers.

With its unique mix of teams from various regions, LCP has already outperformed some other leagues in terms of viewership. For instance, the peak viewership of the first week of LCP Split 1 2025 was higher than that of NLC Winter 2025, which features many well-known European stars and streamers. Additionally, LPL's debut attracted more viewers than any PCS or LJL league. In terms of first-week performance, LCP Split 1 2025 had a stronger start than any of the VCS leagues, although the VCS still draws more viewers during its playoffs.

LCP Split 1 2025 will run until February 23. After the group stage, the playoffs will follow, with the best team earning a spot at First Stand 2025. You can stay up-to-date with the schedule, results, and viewership stats on the league’s official page.
