LFL hits all-time peak viewership

LFL hits all-time peak viewership

Feb 09, 2024 2 min read

The LFL Spring 2024 got underway on January 17 and kicked off the main competitive season for League of Legends in France. With names like Vitality, Karmine Corp, Team BDS, and Solary in action, the event has gotten off to a hot start, hitting a new peak for popularity in the series.

The 11th European Regional League split under the La Ligue Française banner has ten teams competing for the title in a Group Stage and Playoffs format. This $21.5K prize pool event will see the top three sides qualify for the EMEA Masters Spring 2024, just the second iteration of this series under the new format.

The LFL Spring 2024 hit 234.1K Peak Viewers during the Week 4, Day 2 clash between Gentle Mates and Karmine Corp Blue. As is well-known, these teams are owned by celebrity streamers like Gotaga, Kamet0, and Squeezie, so they always attract more attention than other sides.

However, what did make this achievement remarkable is the fact that Karmine Corp was fielding its B team and not its main roster, so pulling in such record numbers is no mean feat. However, with both Gotaga and Kamet0 covering their teams, there was massive interest among fans in this LoL competition, especially when their sides played each other.

Both famous streamers have achieved almost identical 90K+ PV till Week 4 of the Group Stage and have by far been the most successful individual channels. With Gentle Mates running out as the winner, this event has so far also done 2.82M Hours Watched and 56.5K Average Viewers over 50 hours of airtime.

When it comes to the peak viewership record, the LFL Spring 2024 beat the previous record holder — LFL Spring 2022 — by 10.4%. Alongside the LFL Summer 2022, these are the only two editions to cross the 200K PV mark, while the record holder in terms of watch time is the LFL Spring 2022.
