From Logitech to HyperX — most popular devices of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo participants

Good gaming devices are important tools for every esports athlete, as responsiveness, click accuracy, and reaction time largely depend on the gear. Bad devices can be the cause of defeat, while good ones are capable of revealing a player's full potential and showcasing their maximum skill.

Most often, players use their own devices during offline events, and things like monitors and PCs in general are usually provided by tournament organizers. Right now, VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo is taking place in Japan. It is one of the largest international Valorant tournaments this year. Esports Charts has found out which devices the participants of this event are using and determined the most popular brands for each category. It turned out that almost half of the participants are using Logitech gaming mice, while most players choose the HyperX brand for headphones.

The statistics has taken into account data from 49 out of 60 tournament players (82% of the total number of participants), whose device information was publicly available (on team websites, gaming portals, and in descriptions of Twitch channels). In total, we counted 188 positions in four categories — computer mice, keyboards, mousepads, and headphones.

Most Popular Device Brands Among the Participants of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo

In the gaming mouse category, Logitech is the most popular brand, with 24 players (out of 49 analyzed) using their mice. Zowie and Razer brands followed in popularity.

Although the proportions were similar in the headphone category, HyperX is the favorite brand. At least 23 of VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo participants use headphones of this brand. Razer and Logitech companies are also in the Top 3 by popularity.

In the keyboard category, the distribution is more even. At least 11 tournament participants use keyboards from HyperX. Keyboards from Razer, Wooting, and Logitech are also very popular.

The most popular brand in the gaming mousepad category is Artisan — at least 13 of all VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo participants use their mousepads. Mousepads from Vaxee and Razer companies are also on the list of popular brands. 

Overall Brand Ranking

In the overall brand ranking, Logitech has the most positions: out of 188 analyzed devices, 42 belong to this company. HyperX is in second place in popularity among VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo participants, and Razer rounds out the Top 3.

As for the most popular device among players, at least 19 tournament participants use the Logitech G Pro X Superlight mouse, and at least 17 players use the HyperX Cloud II headphones. The most popular keyboard is the Wooting 60 HE, and in the Top 5 are also the BlackShark V2 headphones from Razer and Logitech G Pro X.

There is a clear leader among brands only in the headphones and gaming mice categories. As for gaming mousepads and keyboards, the distribution is more even. It is worth noting that HyperX is a leader in two categories (keyboards and headphones), while Logitech and Razer are in the Top 5 of the ranking for each type of device.

VCT 2023 Masters Tokyo takes place from June 11 to 25 in Japan at the Tipstar Dome Chiba venue. Participants from three affiliate leagues compete for a prize pool of one million dollars. You can follow the viewership results of the event on the tournament page.
