Every year regional European League of Legends leagues actively grow, and the Spanish tournament moves forward by leaps and bounds. In 2022, several top esports teams joined the league, and Spain's top content creators started covering the matches. All of this has significantly affected the popularity of the league with viewers. Esports Charts sums up the results of the spring split and tells you about the record Superliga audience.
LVP Superliga Spring 2022 Results
By the names of the participating teams LVP Superliga could quite rival the other top leagues of the League of Legends' esports scene . G2 Arctic, MAD Lions Madrid and Giants have been participating there for a long time, and in 2022 another famous team joined them. In particular, the teams, representing FC Barcelona and Team Heretics, joined the discipline, and another slot in the league was obtained by KOI, which is owned by one of the most famous streamers in Spain Ibai ‘Ibai’ Llanos and football star Gerard Pique. Moreover, Team Queso partnered with Fnatic, which has entered the Spanish esports market for the first time.
According to the league regulations, not only the official channels of the tournament can cover the matches of the tournament, but also the community streamers of the participating teams. The appearance of Team Heretics and especially KOI had a significant impact on the popularity of the tournament with viewers, because the most popular content creators covered the matches, thus the audience of the tournament increased significantly.

We can say the same about the competition in the league. None of the top four teams in the 2021 Summer Split made it to the top 4 this time! But the newcomers to the league did a great job. KOI placed fourth and didn't qualify for EU Masters, but Barça esports and BISONS ECLUB did. Fnatic TQ won the tournament. The team had an outstanding split, losing only three maps throughout the event.
As Fnatic's Chief Gaming Officer Patrik cArn Sättermon told Esports Charts, the club sees current state of Spanish league as "all-time high" in terms of competition. He also shared thoughts on partnership with TQ:
"We're very excited about the development of the league and we think Spring Split delivered an all-time high in terms of competitive and storied brands, with the likes of Fnatic, FC Barcelona and KOI joining as new teams.
Together with our partner FnaticTQ we've already produced co-streams and looking ahead I'm positive we will explore this opportunity even further, and enabling our fans to get even closer to our brand and players.
We've always had a great relationship with Team Queso and we admire the brand and company they have built. Naturally we explored numerous ways to enter the league but at the end we felt our brand's values and goals were perfectly aligned with TQ and it's been a very productive and mutually beneficial partnership for everyone involved already."
Patrik cArn Sättermon, Chief Gaming Officer for Fnatic
Soon we will find out how much local teams will be competitive on the international arena. European Masters Spring 2022 starts on April 4, where the Spanish teams will compete against teams from France, Poland and other countries of the Old World.

LVP Superliga Spring 2022 Viewership Results
The matches of Spain's top teams attracted a huge audience. The LVP Superliga spring split ran from January to the end of March, and the matches were on the air for a total of 122 hours. In this time, the games accumulated more than 6.5 million Hours Watched, and attracted 53.4K Average Viewers, which is an incredible result for a local league.
KOI owner Ibai ‘ibai’ Llanos, who covered the team's matches on his channel, made a gigantic impact on the final numbers. He alone accounted for more than 40% of the tournament's total Hours Watched.
The most popular matches of the tournament were the ones with KOI, and the Peak Viewers number of 282.5K people was reached at the team's match against Team Heretics, another team owned by the popular Spanish streamer TheGrefg (team's matches were covered by Werlyb). It should be noted that the decisive match of the tournament, where Fnatic TQ defeated BISONS ECLUB, attracted only 62.8K Peak Viewers.

As we can see from the statistics, the LVP Superliga audience grows every year, but in 2022 there was the highest increase in the number of viewers. Compared to the summer split of 2021, the Average Viewers number of the event grew by 2.5 times, and the Peak Viewers number nearly quadrupled!
