M6 World Championship begins with higher peak viewership than 2023
The first day of the M6 World Championship witnessed two matches from each pool of the Wildcard round's Group Stage. They ended up as the more popular sets of games to go down over the last two editions, with Indonesian audiences playing a big role in this rise.
Day 1 of the Wildcard Stage saw mostly one-sided games, led by RRQ Akira beating The MongolZ 2:0 in Group B. The other match in this pool was Insilio's 2:0 win over Legion Esports, giving the Russian side a good start in its debut M-series appearance.
Group A saw DianFengYaoGuai beat Niightmare Esports 2:1 while ULFHEDNAR eased past Geekay Esports 2:0. The former was the only outing where the loser won a map, with the other three contests resulting in easy wins as all the match-ups went as per pre-tournament predictions.

Of note was the match involving RRQ Akira, which is an Indonesian esports organization with an all-Brazilian roster that competes in the MPL LATAM. Fans will know of its much more famous sister roster, RRQ Hoshi, inarguably the most popular MLBB side globally.
This following for the Indonesian roster seemingly rubbed off on the Brazilian side, as fans from the Southeast Asian nation flocked in droves to watch the side win its opening game. That was why the language's peak concurrent viewership from the opening days at the M5 World Championship went up by just over 100%.

Meanwhile, the tournament's PV figures went up by 27%, while the average number of online viewers also shot up by 21%. This was despite the watch time decreasing as the games were much shorter this time compared to 2023.
Portuguese's PV numbers, although much smaller, also went up by 2539% on the first day of the ongoing edition. With RRQ always proving a draw wherever it plays and having two representatives this time, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fans speaking this language will play a vital role if the event has to continue putting up good numbers and threaten the audience records achieved last year

Some of the most watched streamers to co-cast Mobile Legends: Bang Bang's premier esports event of the year on Day 1 were R7 Tatsumaki, XINNN, and KB, all Indonesian speakers. Readers must note that the top 30 co-streamers at this coveted competition will receive exciting cash prizes totaling $24,000.
Moonton has partnered with Esports Charts to reward online personalities for their hard work based on how many HW they can accumulate across the championship. The top 30 names will get to share the above cash prize, with the leaderboard available to the public on Esports Charts' M6 World Championship page.
Esports Charts had also predicted that the M6 World Championship would break viewership records come December 15, especially if the Grand Final features teams from Indonesia and the Philippines. With that in mind, this Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament has gotten off to a rather auspicious start.
