Most popular esports clubs on Threads

Aug 10, 2023 2 min read

Esports organizations gradually come to Threads, a new social network from Meta Platforms, which is being hailed online as the "new Twitter". It has especially gained popularity in Southeast Asia, where the majority of users are avid fans of Instagram, another social network owned by Meta. Just a month after release, Indonesian clubs — well-known in the professional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene — have become leaders in terms of follower count on Threads.

Rex Regum Qeon has become the most popular esports organization on Threads in terms of follower count. Over 160K people have already subscribed to its page on the new social network. This surpasses the club's Twitter account, although it is still far behind its Instagram numbers, where RRQ has nearly 5 million followers.

In second place on the leaderboard is EVOS Legends, one of RRQ's main rivals in the professional ML:BB scene. In just one month, the EVOS account on Threads has gained around 130K followers.

The trio of leaders is completed by ONIC Esports, another esports club from Indonesia, which currently has one of the strongest ML:BB lineups. In April, the ONIC Esports  won MPL Indonesia Season 11, and it became the champion of the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 in June. As for achievements on social media, ONIC currently has around 77K followers on Threads

Bigetron Esports can boast a slightly smaller number, with approximately 71.8K followers on its Threads account. In fifth place, with a result of 48.4K followers, is the Alter Ego club.

Many esports organizations have not yet created official accounts on Threads, but as soon as they do, links to these pages will appear in the organizations' profiles on Esports Charts, alongside other social media platforms. Our database is updated daily, and any user can contribute and fill in missing information.
