Most popular teams of Valorant Champions 2024 Group Stage

The Valorant Champions 2024 saw its Group Stage conclude on August 11 at the COEX Artium in Seoul. Sixteen teams set out on August 1 with the aim of becoming the game's next world champion, but heading into the Playoffs — which just began at the time of writing — only half the participants remain, with prominent names like Gen.G Esports, KRÜ Esports, and Team Vitality shown the exit door.

However, the performances of these sides did not reflect their popularity among fans, as Valorant remains a game that banks on star names, be it players or esports organizations, to pull in higher viewership numbers.

Group A's most popular side by average online viewership was Fnatic, who hit 394.4K Average Viewers across three matches. The EMEA Stage 2 winner is looking for its first global title since clinching the VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo in June 2023, one of its two such wins last year alongside the season-opening VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo.

Across the first 11 days of this Valorant competition, the most popular side by average online viewership was Group B's Gen.G, who accrued almost 500K AV. The Pacific League representative, consisting of an all-Korean roster, had been one of the most consistent performers this year, not finishing below second at any major event before the Champions 2024, to emerge as a strong international contender in 2024. Even its poor showing in South Korea did not stop fans from its region from tuning in to watch the team, also making it the most watched side and the only one to pass 4M Hours Watched.

The most popular team from Group C was Leviatán Esports, with the Argentine squad making Spanish-speaking fans happy by advancing to the Playoffs. Having advanced from a pool that also contained Team Vitality and Talon Esports, the Argentine side will be hoping to go far and improve on its best international showing of 5th-6th.

Group D's most popular side was Singapore's Paper Rex, who became the second entry here despite getting eliminated in the Group Stage. The Valorant Champions 2023 finalist has also been pretty consistent this year but once again failed in its quest to convert solid regional showings into success at the global level.
