MPL Philippines Season 14 broke series record with 1.62 million concurrent viewers for finals
The Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines series is one of the world’s most popular mobile gaming esports circuits. The Filipino circuit for ML:BB boasts one of Asia’s largest mobile gaming audiences, although within the MPL it usually plays second fiddle to the MPL Indonesia. Most recently, the MPL Philippines Season 14 reached 1.62M Peak Viewers for its exciting grand finals, featuring one of the event series’ most exciting storylines.
Season 14 began on August 16, following a shake-up in the scene. Team Minana EVOS disbanded, as partner EVOS Esports decided to exit the region, leaving a spot open in the MPL PH and many talented players without a team. Many of these players were acquired by Fnatic ONIC PH. Previously known as simply ONIC Philippines, the team partnered with European organization Fnatic months before the season began. The team was previously struggling to enter its region’s top four, but with a brand-new roster and Fnatic behind them, they emerged as a favourite for Season 14.
With a spot left open in the MPL, Serbian organization Aurora Gaming stepped in to buy the spot from Minana. Since its founding in 2022, Aurora has expanded across Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and more. The team fields competitive rosters considering how new it is to the industry, and their new entry to the MPL found immediate success. The organization acquired talent from regionally famous organization Blacklist International, and also picked up Domeng from Minana EVOS’ pool of players.
Minana EVOS’ exit from the MPL PH started an entire mix-up of the Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene, leading famed organization ONIC back to the top of competition, and a new competitor Aurora Gaming stepping up and immediately impressing. On top of Season 14 hosting competitive games and a gripping grand final event, the overall season storyline attracted international viewers, as well as bolstering the season's peak.
Both of these competitors advanced to the grand final, where their match went an entire seven games, eventually reaching 1.62M Peak Viewers for the final game. While reaching this massive event series record viewership, mobile livestreaming platform TikTok hit 467.4K PV, and more importantly, 392.3K Tagalog Peak Viewers, which is a new platform language record for TikTok in esports.
MPL Philippines Season 14 Viewership Statistics

At 867.8K YouTube peak, this was also one of the most popular Tagalog YouTube broadcasts in our database. As we reported in our Q3 piece, TikTok increased its esports broadcast viewership by 31% last quarter, and increased its portion of total industry viewership by almost 7%. TikTok is one of the fastest-growing esports livestreaming platforms, and it is directly competing with YouTube for a mobile livestreaming audience. While TikTok was able to set a platform record with the help of this event, YouTube fell short of a similar achievement, as it was likely held back slightly by TikTok’s growth.
In total, Season 14 of the MPL PH reached 21.1M Hours Watched, 47% of which was generated during the playoffs stage. For the final game, Tagalog viewership reached well over 1 million concurrent viewers and other international audiences such as English and Indonesian also managed a couple of hundred thousand concurrent viewers. The MPL is both a global brand, and regional: the combination of strong regional support and minor yet significant international viewership is a crucial key to the MPL’s high viewerships.
With the result of Season 14, both Aurora Gaming and Fnatic ONIC PH have qualified for the M6 World Championship, beginning this November in Kuala Lumpur.
