NLC Winter 2025 breaks all series records, outperforms LTA and LPL

Building on the momentum it gained on its first day, the NLC Winter 2025 outdid all expectations and shattered all previous series records, driven by the presence of a star team. The event saw the regional debut of Los Ratones — the team founded by star co-caster Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont — and set new standards that will be hard for even some top-tier League of Legends leagues to match.

Driven by the success of Los Ratones, who won the entire thing, the NLC Winter 2025 notched 360,545 Peak Viewers (PV) during the Grand Final. This was a jump of 2471% on the next-highest entry, signalling the rise of a series that has rivalled the numbers put up by some of the game's top series, including the two LTA 2025 Cross-Conference, the LPL Split 1 2025, and the LCP Split 1 2025.

Los Ratones is an esports organization started by former League of Legends professional Caedrel that has some pretty prominent names in its ranks. Part of the roster are players like Simon "Baus" Hofverberg, Veljko "Velja" Čamdžić, Tim "Nemesis" Lipovšek, Juš "Crowshot" Marušič, and Carl "Rekless" Martin Erik Larsson.

NLC Winter 2025 peaked at 360,545 concurrent viewers during the Grand Final between the eventual winner and NORD Esports. Intriguingly, these two sides met three times during the event, with Los Ratones winning all three games and losing just one across these encounters.

The over 360,000 peak concurrent viewers this competition notched made it the most popular one in the Northern LoL Championship. The jump in this metric was so high that the next-highest entry is a full 2471% behind.

The NLC Winter 2025's 4.1M Hours Watched (HW) and 47,267 Average Viewers (AV) over 87 hours of airtime were also series records. It helped that many other popular co-streamers covered the action, including Frederik "Noway4u_sir" Hinteregger, Niklot "Tolkin" Stüber, and Christian "Iwdominate" Rivera.

The channels of the five members of Los Ratones also livestreamed the games, bringing in their fans from across the world as they looked to catch their favourite player-streamers in action.

Fuelled by the newest superstar European team, which features some of the most popular League of Legends players who have also branched out into successful streaming careers, the NLC is finally looking up when it comes to audience reach. Of course, the participation and success of Los Ratones will go a long way in attracting more interest among fans, so it will be fascinating to see how the team performs for the rest of the year.

After all, positive results are bound to keep audiences engaged and interested in their games over longer periods. If things do remain positive, we could see this series consistently rival more successful European tier-2 leagues like the LFL, LVP SuperLiga, and Prime League.
