OTK Valorant Invitational hits 160K Peak Viewers thanks to prominent names

One True King, more famously known as OTK, saw their professional gaming tournament, the OTK Valorant Invitational, run from November 13 to 14. As part of its partnership with Riot Games, announced on November 9, this event was officially broadcast on Emiru's channel — alongside a lot of co-streams from the participants — emerging as one of the more popular Valorant events that do not come under the competitive season's schedule.

This Valorant tournament was held for a prize pool of $10K and consisted of eight teams and 40 players (all streamers or online influencers), meaning five players on each side. It consisted of a group stage (two pools) with the top two from each side advancing to the semifinals. While it was no part of the overriding competitive season for the discipline, it did contribute to Riot Games’ attempts to take it to farther corners of the globe.

Some of the more prominent participants included ValkyraeLudwigKkataminaxChocoBarsDisguised Toast, ExtraEmily, Buddha and Fuslie. Pitting some of these most famous online stars against each other in a format that has proven to be pretty successful before worked a treat this time as well, but what made it unique was the fact that most of these names had played quite a bit of Valorant, meaning they were pretty well-versed in the game and its mechanics, contributing to an interesting and pretty competitive event overall.

In the finals, Team Tectone — also containing SONIIBryceUpYUNG JEFF, and wantep — eased past Team Sykkuno to come out as the champions. The Austin, Texas, based collective had roped in content creators 39daph and Kyedae as hosts, alongside Emiru, of this much-anticipated competition.

The other captains to participate at the Valorant Invitational included Asmongold, Erobb221, Nmplol, Mizkif, EsfandTV, and ExtraEmily. Here's how the organization described it via a post on X (formerly Twitter):

"OTK Valorant Invitational. A totally, very-serious sweaty content creator tournament hosted by Emiru (bronze btw), in partnership with Riot Games!"

This intra-streamer tournament recorded 713K Hours Watched161K Peak Viewers, and 117K Average Viewers over six hours of airtime. It seemingly peaked during the start of the day's first match, between Team Mizkif and Team Erobb221, which the former won 3:2.

Despite being hosted on Emiru's channel, Asmongold's alternate account, zackrawrr, emerged as the most successful, finishing first and second on the popularity and watch time leaderboards, respectively. Pokimane was also in high demand, finishing in the third position on both tables and showing why she remains one of the underrated names in the video game streaming segment.

When comparing the OTK Valorant Invitational to other similar recent events that were either conducted by professional organizations, large-scale companies that act as sponsors, or other streamer groups, it is clear that it falls somewhere in the middle, which is a pretty good start for this all-streamer extravaganza. One of the more popular and successful competitions is the Red Bull Home Ground #4, which sees participation from highly-popular sides like Fnatic, Cloud9, DRX, and 100 Thieves.

When looking at the various gaming or esports-related tournaments held by OTK itself, this Valorant event comes in fourth place in terms of watch time and popularity. The leader on both counts is the OTK Hardcore Mak'gora Tournament, held late last month, and it attracted quite a lot of attention thanks to the game enjoying a cult following and the fact that many of the organization’s members, especially Mizkif, play it a lot and enjoy substantial followings from the discipline’s fans.

With this latest event pitting some of the world's most famous content creators against each other, OTK has proved once again why it is one of the most successful and beloved streamer organizations going around. Having already big tournaments and events like ELEVATED, The OTK Game Awards, and Games Expo, the success of this Valorant offering should help it gain more traction and following in the long run.
