Cloud9 and Team Vitality kicked off the playoff stage, drawing nearly 776.5K PV, slightly less than paiN Gaming vs Natus Vincere in the group stage. The series itself wasn't particularly thrilling, as Team Vitality confidently defeated Cloud9 on two maps, allowing their opponents to win just ten rounds in total.

The match between Team Spirit and FaZe Clan generated much more excitement among fans, gathering over 1.12M Peak Viewers. The status of the teams played a significant role here, as both hold top positions in the world rankings on HLTV.org. Moreover, the match itself was very intense and exciting, with several overtime rounds. Ultimately, FaZe Clan emerged victorious with a score of 2:1. Team captain Karrigan delivered an excellent performance on home soil, delighting Danish fans.

PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Quaterfinals Viewership Statistics

The playoff stage of the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 significantly differs from the previous major in terms of viewer activity. One should recall the first quarterfinals of the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 featured Team Vitality vs Into The Breach and FaZe Clan vs Heroic, attracting 847K and 866K Peak Viewers, respectively.

Why did such a gap emerge between the quarterfinals? The clash between FaZe Clan and Team Spirit can be considered one of the key matches of this tournament. Many fans regarded these teams as top favorites and contenders for the championship trophy. In terms of intensity, their match resembled a grand final, but unfortunately, FaZe Clan and Team Spirit met early in the bracket. Additionally, the increase in viewership was fueled by English-language broadcasts, especially noticeable on official channels.

Two more quarterfinal matches will be played on March 29: Eternal Fire will face off Natus Vincere and G2 Esports to contest MOUZ. You can follow the event's progress of the tournaments here.
