PUBG Mobile Pro League championships recently ended in four regions — one of them was Europe, where the league's debut season was held. Natus Vincere won the event with 44 point advantage over Unicorns of Love which finished 2nd. Esports Charts breaks down viewership numbers of European Championship Season 1 and compares its statistics with other regions.

PMPL European Championship Viewers Statistics

16 teams participated in the first season of the European Pro League with six representatives of the CIS, five teams from Europe and five more from Turkey. Among the notable participants one can name such popular organizations as Natus Vincere from Ukraine, Unicorns of Love from Germany, Giants Gaming from Spain and Futbolist from Turkey.

Viewers spent over 2M hours watching the event; also the tournament attracted over 209K Peak Viewers on the last game day. Note that this is more than peak viewership of Six Sweden Major (Rainbow Six Siege), DreamHack Open November 2021 (CS:GO) and Free Fire Indonesia Masters 2021 Fall. On average, more than 105K people tuned in to watch the matches of the championship.

The competition was broadcast on six platforms, including TikTok. The most popular streaming service was NimoTV, which is quite popular in Turkey: this platform accounted for 72.7% of the total Hours Watched of the tournament. The second place went to YouTube with 15.2% of the total, and Twitch closed the top three with 7.7%.

The event was casted in six European languages, and the most active viewers were from Turkey — they generated 64% of the total HW. Russian-language broadcasts are ranked second with 27% of total HW number.

It should be noted that the audience in the CIS did not show much interest in mobile disciplines previously, but the latest tournament results indicate that the situation has begun to change. For comparison, PUBG Mobile Pro League Season 1 2021 CIS (the first PRO league for the CIS) at its peak gained only 24K viewers, while the European championship drew more than 51.8K Peak Viewers on Russian-language broadcasts.

Note that some popular content creators contributed to the impressive statistics of the event. For example, the PMPL European Championship was covered by Recrent — one of the most popular Twitch streamers in the CIS.

European Championship vs other regions

Compared to the rest of the PMPL Championship, the European Championship showed much better results than North America and the Middle East/South Asia. The European Championship attracted twice as many viewers (both at its peak and on average) and gained more Hours Watched, although it was on the air for 3-8 hours less.

Southeast Asia remains the leader with an average audience of 273K viewers. PUBG Mobile Pro League Season 4 2021 SEA gathered 682K Peak Viewers in the finals, which is more than such big events as WePlay AniMajor (Dota 2) or MPL PH Season 8 (ML:BB) had.
