Worlds 2023 quarterfinal between Bilibili Gaming and Gen.G Esports showed the event's highest viewership to date
The second quarterfinal of the 2023 World Championship (League of Legends) took place on November 3. In a tense series, the Chinese team Bilibili Gaming defeated the Korean squad Gen.G Esports with a score of 3:2. This match gathered over 2.34 million Peak Viewers, which currently stands as the highest viewership for the tournament.

The quarterfinal match between Bilibili and Gen.G accumulated 7.6 million Hours Watched. This is nearly three times more than the first quarterfinal match between NRG and Weibo. Such a significant difference is not surprising since yesterday's match ended with a score of 3:0, while today it took all five maps to determine the winner.
The opponents greatly influenced the audience reach. In the second quarterfinal, Korean fans watched the streams much more actively as Gen.G was playing. They came to support the representative of LCK, which resulted in a nearly threefold increase in Peak Viewers on Korean streams, from 258K to 762.4K people. Other main languages also experienced growth in this aspect, with Vietnamese’s PV number increasing by 80% and English's increasing by about 33%.
Interestingly, the match between Bilibili Gaming and Gen.G Esports gathered more viewers on YouTube than on Twitch. The difference amounted to approximately 216K viewers. In the first quarterfinal, there was almost parity between the platforms, with Twitch having a slight advantage.
On November 4, the third quarterfinal of the 2023 World Championship will take place. JD Gaming and KT Rolster will compete for a spot in the next stage of the tournament. You can follow the progress and viewership statistics of the tournament on the event coverage page.
