RoV Pro League 2021 Winter is an Arena of Valor Thai franchise league and a qualifier for the Arena of Valor International Championship 2021. The league runs in the Asian region. Famous European football clubs, such as PSG and Valencia, have their own teams in the league. In a new article Esports Charts will tell you about the winter split and what were the obstacles to update the performance.

RoV Pro League 2021 Winter tournament was held from August 20 to October 17. Eight teams competed in the tournament, with a prize pool of $300,000. First and second place teams earned spots in the Arena of Valor International Championship 2021, the discipline's international tournament. The rest of the league will compete for spots in another Road to AIC 2021 qualifier.

RoV Pro League 2021 Winter stats

TaLon vs. Valencia CF Esports was the most watched match of the tournament in the grand final - 113K Peak Viewers followed it.

The most popular match until the final was Bacon Time vs. Buriram United Esports in the third week of the group stage. The number of the match's Peak Viewers was 111K spectators.  And here's why: Buriram United Esports is one of the most successful teams in the region regarding tournament results, as it hasn't dropped below third place in the RoV Pro League since 2019. Bacon Time are the summer split champions and one of the most media popular teams in the region. However, both teams did not reach the grand final of the league, which negatively affected viewership statistics.

Did the 2021 winter split outpace previous cycles?

We compared the league to previous splits to see how successful the tournament was in the series.

The event was on air for a record 174 hours and had 7.4 million Hours Watched. There was no English broadcast, so all the viewers watched the Thai streams on YouTube, Facebook and Garena Live. The YouTube broadcast took the lead due to the fact that mobile esports are quite popular on that platform.

The 2021 Winter Split was the worst-performing Peak Viewers series of the new format (previously, the RoV Pro League was held seasonally without dividing into splits). Compared to the summer of 2021, Peak Viewers number decreased by 35% because the favorites failed to reach the grand final. At the same time, the event increased by 19% regarding Hours Watched, but this is mainly related to the length of the league.

The last event in this year's Arena of Valor esports split is the International Championship 2021, which kicks off on November 27. The best teams from eight regions: Thailand, Taipei, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Malaysia/Singapore/Philippines will meet at the $1 million total prize money pool tournament. The teams are selected according to regional qualifications as well as a separate Road to AIC 2021 event.
