RoV Pro League: The results keep on decreasing
Thailand's main Arena of Valor tournament continues to lose viewers. Starting from its third season we are witnessing a decrease of interest in broadcasts. Let's check out just what is happening with the championship.
Season 3 was undoubtedly the highlight of the RoV Pro League, attracting 240 thousand peak viewers and 101 thousand average viewers. But already during Season 4 these results were deteriorating, while the subsequent Season 5 nearly became the worst in the event's history.
In 2020, rather than going with the usual two seasons of the RoV Pro League, the competition was divided into two splits (summer one and winter one). In the summer the event played out the spots for the AoV Premier League 2020, while in winter the participants duked it out for the invitations to the AoV International Championship 2020.
It can be said that the system began to largely resemble the esports season of LoL (also divided into summer and winter parts). But such a change didn't help the competition when it came to reaching better results.

The summer RoV Pro League of 2020 attracted 176 thousand peak viewers, with the same figure decreasing to 143 thousand in winter. When compared with the third season (the most popular one as of now), the peak viewers indicator decreased by 26% and 40%, respectively.
The 2020 esports season also attracted 58 thousand average viewers in summer and 46 thousand average viewers in winter. Which, compared to the third season, yields 41% and 54% decrease, respectively.
YouTube brought the most viewers among all the RoV Pro League platforms. The event was also broadcast on Facebook, Nimo TV and Garena Live, with only 5.7% peak viewers difference. That's while YouTube reached 95 thousand peak viewers, surpassing the nearest rival in the face of Facebook by 104%.

The event featured broadcasts in Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese, with the first language of these surpassing the others far and wide, being responsible for the vast majority of the championship's views. It attracted 176 thousand peak viewers.
Among the teams, the most viewers were attracted by Buriram United Esports, as both splits ended with the team at least reaching the final match. In case of RoV Pro League 2020 Summer, it ended with the victory of Buriram United, which earned the team a spot in the Premier League 2020. In addition, all the five most popular matches of the Pro League featured the participation of this team.
To conclude, it can be said that in 2020 the championship didn't manage to surpass its incarnation from the past year. The coronavirus pandemic certainly didn't benefit the event either. The organizers have much work to do if they are to restore the competition to its past glory.
