S1mple's debut in Counter-Strike 2 attracted 273K Peak Viewers
On March 6, one of the most recognizable and decorated esports players, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, played his first professional match in Counter-Strike 2. The Ukrainian debuted for Falcons against Metizport at BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024. The match concluded with a score of 1:2 in favor of Metizport — Falcons exited the tournament after just one match.
In his first game since October, and the inaugural official game in the new version of the shooter, s1mple did 38 frags with 49 deaths. Throughout the series, he displayed a 71.1 ADR, with his rating reaching 0.94. Soon after the ESL One Pro League Season 18 finals, the Ukrainian left Natus Vincere main roster and went inactive; he's currently playing for Team Falcons on a short-term loan basis.

Three matches were played on the first day of BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2024: Cloud9 vs Rare Atom, Heroic vs NiP, and Falcons vs Metizport. It was the latter game that attracted the most viewers to the broadcast. 273.5K people simultaneously watched s1mple's debut in Counter-Strike 2. The other two matches gathered 156K and 158K viewers at peak.
