Six Invitational 2023, the world championship in the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege, will be held from February 7 to 19 in Montreal, signifying the end of the tournament season. The main tournament in the discipline is held by Ubisoft, the developer and publisher of the game. Esports Charts tells you which teams made it to the finals and how many viewers the regional qualifiers attracted.

A total of 20 teams will compete at Six Invitational 2023. Sixteen teams received invitations based on Global Point Standings (ranking points were earned for results in the Majors and regional leagues). Four more teams qualified from Europe, North America, Latin America and APAC (Asia-Pacific). Dire Wolves, Team Secret, Spacestation Gaming and LOS + oNe made it to the Six Invitational 2023.

Statistics of Qualifications

Six Invitational 2023 Qualifiers Viewership

The North American qualification, where Team SoloMid (Six Invitational 2022 champion) unexpectedly lost to Spacestation Gaming and failed to qualify for the tournament, attracted the most viewers. In Europe, the numbers were on almost the same level, but Average and Peak Viewers numbers decreased noticeably in Latin America, especially in comparison with the previous year.

In 2022, Latin America was the most popular region of qualification: back then, the Brazilian Grand Final between MIBR and Black Dragons was watched by 44.8K Peak Viewers. The 2023 qualification's most popular match drew only 15K PV. The main reason for this drop is that the qualifiers in Latin America were not covered on the official English-language channel Rainbow6 at all, although last year that channel attracted most of the viewers. This was most likely due to a scheduling conflict, as Rainbow6 covered the APAC qualifying games at that time. As a result, the Portuguese-language channel r6esportsbr was the most watched channel at the Latin American qualifiers, attracting only 6.6K PV.

Six Invitational Viewership Dynamics (2018-2022)

At Six Invitational, the strongest teams in the world will fight for the championship title and a share of a $3 million prize pool. The first Six Invitational tournaments were held in Montreal, not far from Ubisoft's headquarters. In 2021, the developers held the first finals in Paris, and in 2022, the World Cup was hosted by Stockholm. World Cup 2023 will be held again in Montreal.

The most popular Six Invitational tournament is still the championship in 2018 — then, the PV number was 316K people. But Six Invitational 2021, with 156.5K AV, remains the leader by Average Viewers on the broadcasts so far. From year to year, the Rainbow Six Siege World Championships regularly draw hundreds of thousands of viewers: a very good result for a series that started back in 2017.
