The 2023 Worlds Qualifying Series, a one-off series to determine a slot in the Play-In stage at the 2023 League of Legends World Championship, was held on October 9. The best-of-five match, played at the LoL Park in Seoul, saw the fourth seed from the LEC 2023 Finals, Team BDS, battle the fourth seed from the LCS Summer 2023, Golden Guardians.

The French team eased past its American counterpart 3:0 to earn a berth in the Play-In stage of the 2023 World Championship. It joined seven other teams in this phase, which will have two rounds, with the top two at the end qualifying for the Swiss Stage.

This 2023 Worlds Qualifying Series match recorded 1.4M Hours Watched625K Peak Viewers, and 440K Average Viewers over three hours of airtime. Considering it was a single series, such high numbers are pretty impressive, showing how tuned in fans of both sides were to see who would punch their ticket to the mega event. It might not even be a stretch to say that the Play-In stage at the Worlds might not be able to register such tall stats, which readers will find out soon enough.

What helped this competition notch such large numbers was the participation of many big-name streamers in community casting. The most watched and popular individual channel to live stream it was ibai, who hit 113K HW and 47K PV, continuing to show why he remains one of the most prominent names in the streaming industry.

English and Twitch were the number one language and platform, respectively, when it came to audiences watching the competition. While the former took up more than 43% of the overall watch time, the purple platform was more dominant, notching over 60% of the total chart.

Moving to the 2023 Worlds itself, it will emanate from two cities, Seoul and Busan, in South Korea. Running from October 10 to November 19, it will have three stages: Play-Ins, Swiss, and Single Elimination. All 22 sides have been decided, and the coveted event will begin with the Play-In Round 1 on October 10.
