The end of spring and the beginning of summer is the time for major mid-season competitions in the largest esports games. It was these competitions that turned out to be among the most popular among the live audience in June, although most of them showed a much more modest audience reach compared to the top events of May.

Top esports events of June 2023

Undoubtedly the most popular esports event of the month was MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023, an international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang championship, where not only the best SEA teams but also representatives from other regions of the world competed this year. The final of the competition between ONIC Esports and Blacklist International attracted 3.65 million viewers at peak, a series record and the second-highest result of 2023: more concurrent viewers this year were recorded only during the M4 World Championship.

No other tournament has surpassed 1 million viewers at its peak (there were four in May). Second place went to VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, where Fnatic's victory over Evil Geniuses in the final drew over 830K concurrent viewers. According to the metrics, the tournament entered the top 6 in Valorant esports history, much behind LOCK//IN, which took place in February-March of 2023.

Of the League of Legends tournaments, only LCK Summer 2023, the Korean franchise league, made it to the top 5. The largest number of spectators, unsurprisingly, gathered for the T1 vs. Gen.G rivalry, the match between arguably the biggest contenders in the league. More than 764K people followed Peanut & Co's victory at the peak.

One of the few top CS:GO events in June — BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023 — took fourth place in the overall ranking. Interestingly, the peak viewership was reached here not during the decisive match, but in the semi-finals between Heroic and Imperial Esports. The Danes did not let the team of the Brazilian legend FalleN into the final, and at the peak, more than 494 thousand people watched this.

The top 5 was closed by another MLBB tournament, H3RO Esports 4.0, where the leading teams from Indonesia, including EVOS Legends and Rex Regum Qeon, played. The semi-final of the upper bracket, where RRQ and future finalists from AURA Fire met, became the most popular match of the championship: it peaked at over 441K concurrent viewers.

Considering only the audience of English-language broadcasts, the top 5 will be a little different from the overall rating. Interestingly, the decisive event of the Call of Duty League 2023 season was in the top 3. The return of the tournament broadcasts on Twitch and active community casting (especially thanks to Scump) helped the league to significantly increase its audience reach; thus, the championship final between Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners gathered 288K English-speaking viewers at its peak.

Rounding out the top 5 in English was IEM Dallas 2023, a CS:GO championship that is part of the Intel Grand Slam series. Although the grand final was the most popular match of the event in terms of all languages, the English-speaking audience showed more interest in the semi-final between FaZe Clan and ENCE: it attracted over 193K viewers at the peak.

It is noteworthy that only two official studio broadcasts appeared in the top 5 Twitch esports channels of the month, all the rest are community casters of various events. The first place went to the top CS:GO commentator from Brazil, Gaules, who broadcast BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023.

Special mention deserves Baiano, who made it into the top 5 with Cbolão Season 5, a League of Legends show tournament featuring the stars of the Brazilian pro scene. Gustavo hosted the event and attracted over 148K concurrent viewers at peak.
