The BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 is just around the corner, and soon, we’ll all be swept up in the excitement of epic showdowns between the world’s top Counter-Strike teams. As the final days before the tournament drag on, the Esports Charts team has gathered a quick collection of fun and fascinating facts to help make the wait a little easier.

Brazil leads all countries in the number of players competing in the tournament

A total of 25 Brazilian players are set to compete at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 — the highest number of representatives from any country at this event, and a new all-time record for any Valve Major. This impressive showing is largely thanks to the expanded tournament format, which now includes 32 teams instead of the usual 24.

In total, six Brazilian teams will take the stage in Austin. Imperial Esports, Fluxo, and Legacy earned their spots in Stage 3 by qualifying through the South American regional qualifier. Meanwhile, paiN Gaming, FURIA, and MIBR will enter during Stage 2, having received direct invites based on their positions in the official Valve rankings.

It’s not the first time Brazil has topped the charts in player representation at a Major — and it likely won’t be the last. This trend is fairly common, thanks to the country’s deep pool of active teams consistently competing in both Tier-1 and Tier-2 events. The previous high point came at the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, where 21 Brazilian players took part — an impressive feat considering the tournament featured only 24 teams overall.

That number ticked up slightly after Oleksandr ‘’s1mple’’ Kostyljev stepped in as a stand-in for Helvijs ‘’Broky’’ Saukants.
