IEM Kraków 2026 was one of the most-anticipated CS2 events of the quarter. The event marked the handover of the series from Katowice to Kraków, and it was welcomed with over a million viewers in its new home. The grand final was the most popular CS2 match of Q1 2026, a game steeped in narrative weight for dedicated fans. 

The second half of 2025 had seen FURIA transform into one of the most formidable teams on the circuit, winning multiple big tournaments and entering the year as a genuine force. The playoffs of the StarLadder Budapest Major hadn't gone as planned. They were eliminated by NAVI. Kraków represented a reset and an opportunity for the team to come back strong. 

But Team Vitality looked unstoppable throughout the event. The two sides had met before at IEM Chengdu, with FURIA coming out on top, but this time Vitality secured a 3-1 victory and added another title to their belt. 

The second-most popular moment of the quarter also came from Kraków, a testament to how compelling the entire event was for audiences. The semifinal match between FURIA and Team Spirit was tense and closely contested, featuring overtimes, long streaks of rounds, and standout individual performances. 

While Team Spirit's star power was firing on all cylinders, FURIA's chemistry and cohesion took them over the line to the grand final. At peak, over 1.19M Peak Viewers tuned in for this showdown. IEM Kraków 2026 is the only CS2 event of Q1 2026 to reach over 1M viewers, and it managed the feat twice. 

Finishing out the podium places, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 followed shortly after IEM Kraków and presented a question to CS2 fans: can anyone stop Vitality? Team Vitality eased their way to another title with a 3:0 win in the grand finals. What made this final compelling was the opponent. 

PARIVISION had entered the year as a relative unknown. The roster had earned some wins throughout the tier-two circuit but entered 2026 with real chances to prove themselves at the top level. They didn't disappoint, starting the year by qualifying for BLAST Bounty Winter 2026, an event they would go on to win as emerging esports talent. Their 3:0 dismantling of Team Falcons in the finals also earned them another appearance in this ranking. 

Following a disappointing result at Kraków, PARIVISION came to Cluj-Napoca with something to prove. After barely managing to qualify for playoffs with a 3:2 record in the Group Stage, the team entered another gear in the playoffs, taking down Team Falcons and MOUZ before meeting their match against Vitality in the finals. 

Another of Vitality's early 2026 titles rounds out the ranking. The team's win over NAVI at BLAST Spring Open 2026 was a dominant showing. The French organization defeated NAVI 3:0, with the Ukrainian team unable to build up enough momentum to disrupt Vitality's run. With their own dedicated fanbase, matches against NAVI can often prove to be the most popular games of the year, but with Vitality's consistent wins they generate their own success.

Throughout Q1 2026, IEM Kraków 2026 was the stand-out tournament. The Polish event led both the Peak Viewers and Hours Watched rankings by a commanding margin, accumulating over 40M hours of watch time. 

One anomaly of the watch time rankings is that BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 failed to make an appearance. While highly popular, the event consisted of a simple single-elimination bracket, meaning it lacked enough airtime to generate a significant amount of Hours Watched. 

While the main event reached just below 9M Hours Watched, BLAST Bounty Winter 2026: Closed Qualifier reached over 10M Hours Watched. The qualifying tournament featured some of the world's most popular CS2 teams (FURIA, Team Falcons, Team Vitality and many more) and was a standout event in January. 

In total, the CS2 esports scene generated in excess of 159 million Hours Watched across events in Q1 2026, a robust number that speaks to the continued health of the title as a spectator sport and sets a strong baseline heading into the tournament calendar's historically higher-profile second half of the year. Although the years are not entirely comparable, this figure represented a 17M HW increase over Q1 2025. 

Q1 2026 was defined above all else by Team Vitality's unrelenting dominance and PARIVISION's emergence as CS2's most exciting new story. Vitality secured three titles in Q1 alone, but there are signs that the competitive landscape is producing an answer to them in the near term. The quarter's most compelling viewing numbers were also shaped by FURIA, whose semifinal and final runs at IEM Kraków delivered the two highest-peaked matches of the period. 

The Brazilian organisation remains one of the most powerful audience draws in the entire CS2 ecosystem. Their continued rivalry with Vitality, along with their 2025 late-season form, ensures that any future rematch between the two sides will almost certainly generate the kind of figures that only the very biggest moments in esports can sustain.
