Valorant show tournament for Japanese Vtubers attracts more Peak Viewers than the VCT 2023: EMEA League
The online Valorant show tournament, Vtuber Most Cooperative Tournament Act 1, took place on November 19, featuring popular Vtubers from Japan. The organizer of the event was Vtuber ShibuyaHAL, co-founder of the esports Vtuber agency Neo-Porte. One of the goals of the tournament was to increase interest among Vtubers and their viewers in the team shooter from Riot Games.
The competition featured 40 Vtubers, divided into eight teams. The tournament featured popular virtual content creators such as Kuzuha, Honma Himawari, Nakiri Ayame, Roboco, Kanae Channel, Laplus Darknesss, Hinano Tachibana and many others. The full list can be found here.

This is by no means the first esports event that ShibuyaHAL has organized for Vtubers. In the past, he has already hosted similar tournaments in Apex Legends. Those competitions were very popular with viewers, and their Peak Viewers number the broadcasts could rival that of professional tournaments. For example, in April 2023, ShibuyaHAL organized the Vtuber Most Cooperative Tournament #4 in Apex Legends, which was watched by 607K Peak Viewers. This was more compared to the viewership of the ALGS: 2023 Championship.

However, his new event ranked eighth among all Valorant tournaments in 2023 (including professional competitions). In terms of audience reach, it even surpassed the VCT 2023: EMEA League, where the top European teams competed.

Most popular Valorant tournaments in 2023
The trend of esports competitions has been gaining momentum for some time among Vtubers. Some Vtuber agencies organize these show tournaments to promote their new stars and boost their channels. Some competitions even manage to be held in a hybrid LAN format — organizers invite viewers to cinemas and arrange joint viewing of the tournament for them. At the same time, VTubers still perform remotely, and the virtual stage is displayed on a big screen.
