League of Legends World Championship has seen the end of the first half of the Group Stage. The main favorites and outsiders were determined based on its results: so far, the teams from China prove to be the best, but the representatives of North America have not yet won a single map in groups. Esports Charts tells about the results and current viewership statistics of Worlds 2022.

Group Stage Interim Results

The most formidable region in the Worlds Group Stage is definitely China and its representatives. The LPL players in three groups became the leaders after the first three rounds: EDward Gaming leads Group A, JD Gaming takes the first place in Group B, and Royal Never Give Up leads Group D. Only the silver medalist of LPL Summer Split is not yet keeping up with them: Top Esports is in third place in Group C with one win and two defeats.

North American LoL fans have a lot to be concerned about: the North American teams have not yet won a single game in the Group Stage, and are in last place in their respective groups. 100 ThievesCloud9, and Evil Geniuses will have to try very hard to advance to the playoffs.

The teams from Europe are doing quite well so far. Rogue solely leads Group C, while Fnatic shares first place with EDward Gaming and T1 in Group A. G2 Esports is currently in third place in Group B, but is capable of advancing to the next round.

Worlds 2022 Group Stage will continue on October 13, when all the remaining games will be played in Group A. Then playoffs participants from the remaining groups will be determined every day until October 16. We remind you that you can follow the matches and their viewership statistics LIVE on the tournament page.

Group Stage Current Viewership Stats

The group stage viewership statistics showed significantly higher results compared to the Play-In stage, as expected. The event broadcasts accumulated more than 23.7 million Hours Watched in four game days. The Average Viewers number is more than 864.6K people, which is 15% higher than that of the Play-In.

The most popular group stage match at the moment is the encounter between the Korean T1 team and Fnatic from Europe: it was watched by more than 1.39 million Peak Viewers. This is 24% more compared to the top game of the Play-In stage (Fnatic vs Evil Geniuses).

Official English-language tournament broadcasts on Twitch (34% of the Group Stage total) and YouTube (10%) have the highest HW numbers among broadcast channels. As for regional streams, the Twitch channels lvpes (Spanish), otplol_ (French) and lck_korea (Korean) showed almost identical results, ranking from 3rd to 5th.

The most popular team in the group stage after the first four days is T1, as expected. Besides this team, 1+ million AV were also attracted by the opponents of the Koreans in the group — Fnatic and EDward Gaming.
