Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has grown incredibly in 2021 and expanded the esports scene. This year, the discipline has renewed viewership records thanks to regular esports tournaments. In a new article Esports Charts will tell you how many viewers watched the top tournaments of the discipline.

Disclaimer: Our top of the most popular tournaments is based on Peak Viewers numbers. Statistics from Chinese platforms are not taken into account due to their unreliability.

The most popular tournament on our top-list is the M3 World Championship. It gathered the top teams of the discipline. The event drew the Peak Viewers number not in the final, but in the playoff stage match between RRQ Hoshi and ONIC PH — 3,1 million Peak Viewers at the tournament broadcasts — this was a record for the discipline. The top matches of the event did not include the final because it did not feature a single Indonesian team (the top 1 region in terms of game audience).

The second place in the ranking is taken by the M2 World Championship: it was held at the very beginning of 2021, so two tournaments of the same series are in the top. The final between Bren Esports and Burmese Ghouls drew 3 million Peak Viewers. It should be noted that this was the last tournament for teams from Myanmar: so far the esports scene in the country is not active due to the political instability there.

The top also includes two seasons of the MPL professional league in Indonesia, which once again shows how popular the game is in the region. With each new season, MPL ID only gets better and sets new viewership records. The seventh season reached 1,8 million Peak Viewers, and the eighth season reached 2,3 million Peak Viewers.

MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2021 is a special tournament for the best teams from Southeast Asia, and it ranks fourth on our top list. The final match between EVOS Esports (Singapore) and Execration (Philippines) drew 2,8 million Peak Viewers. Execration won the tournament, but the organization dismissed the team immediately after the MSC. Currently, former Execration players play in the Smart Omega team.

In 2021, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang expanded its esports scene and launched MPL leagues in Cambodia and Brazil, while Indonesia renewed its records. The MPL season starts in January. Also, the inaugural MPL season in Middle East & North Africa is scheduled for February 7.
