The Worlds 2021 grand final, the main League of Legends tournament of the year, took place on November 6. EDward Gaming became the champion, defeating DAMWON KIA Gaming 3-2 in a tense battle. Winners earned $489.5K prize money, and their opponents got $333.7K. Both teams are in the top 3 of the event's most popular teams by Average Viewers number. In a new Esports Charts article, you'll find out which of the Worlds 2021 participants also made it to the top.

Data doesn't include statistics from Chinese streaming platforms as they use different viewership measurement metrics.

DAMWON KIA Gaming squad had 2.16 million Average Viewers at the event, becoming the most popular team at the championship. The team also generated the most Hours Watched at the tournament — 42.5 million.

Second place went to T1, which always attracts a lot of viewers at every Worlds, mainly thanks to Faker's loyal fanbase. The team had 1.93 million Average Viewers — just 10.2% fewer than DAMWON KIA Gaming had. The team was also in the top 3 regarding Hours Watched at the tournament — 27.3 million HW, second only to DWG and EDward Gaming — they had 37.7 million HW.

Winners of the event EDward Gaming are only third most watched team of the tournament. It outperformed T1 by Hours Watched, but was behind in terms of Average Viewers — 1.8 million people. It was only 6.64% behind the Korean team by Average Viewers.

Fnatic and MAD Lions rounded out the top five with the Average Viewers number of 1.48 million and 1.43 million spectators, respectively. The teams were the only representatives from Europe to make it into the top 5 by the end of the tournament.

Worlds 2021 was held from November 5 to 6 in Iceland. Sixteen of the world's best teams competed for the $2.2 million prize money pool. Competitors will also receive some profits from the sales of in-game themed items released for the tournament.
