Team BDS vs PSG Talon match becomes the most popular in Play-In stage of 2023 World Championship
The first part of the 2023 World Championship, a League of Legends tournament, has ended, with six teams being eliminated from the competition after the Play-In stage. GAM Esports and Team BDS have advanced to the Group Stage, where they will face off against the strongest representatives from the franchise leagues of Europe, South Korea, China, and North America.

The Play-In stage consisted of two rounds: the Group Stage and the knockout matches. In the Group Stage, LOUD, Rainbow7, CTBC Flying Oyster, and DetonatioN FocusMe were eliminated from the tournament. The remaining teams advanced to the knockout matches, where Team BDS defeated PSG Talon, and GAM Esports proved to be stronger than Team Whales.
2023 World Championship’s Play-In stage viewership results

The Play-In stage matches accumulated 22.3 million Hours Watched. The Average Viewers number during the broadcasts was 688K. The most popular game of this stage was the series between PSG Talon and Team BDS, which gathered over 1.3 million Peak Viewers. This is 300K more viewers than the second most popular match in the Play-In stage (GAM versus LOUD) had.
From October 19 to October 29, the matches of the main Group Stage will take place, where teams will compete under the Swiss system. Out of the 16 participants in this stage, only half will advance to the final Playoff stage.
